I was down there this summer to visit my parent graves in Dipper Harbor and its a great drive if its nice but when that fog rolls in

picture is Dipper Harbor just after low tide, check out the high water mark on the wharf, had more than a few folks tie up the boats to it at high tide and come back to find thier boats hanging in mid air

Okay, colour me weird, but I love winter. Lots of fun activities to be had, that can't be done in summer. Skiing, mostly X-C but downhill too, skating on a frozen pond, sledding down the hillside, and lots of other fun things to do. Plus, it looks beautiful too.

Being a dog owner, we are required by him to go out for an hour or more, every day without fail, regardless of how cold, wet, windy or hot it is. If he can do it with only his fur coat, I certainly can with the right gear too.

I actually love living where we get a good variety in the seasons, each one gives further appreciation of the next one.

I would love to do the snowbird thing, but that darn"working for a living" is still a reality. A few more years to go, wife retires in March. if only my RRSP's were bringing in some coin.

I think I found something more tired of winter than any of us.
I was miles from no where in the High Desert of Nevada yesterday.

I spotted a wild horse or burro all by him or herself way off in the distance.
I watched for almost 15 minutes and it never moved.
Horses and burros are gregarious animals and stay in herds.
I guess this one may have been to old or sick to keep up with the herd.
I think this is the saddest picture I've ever taken.

Very windy and cold here today. I guess I can put up with it for another 10 days. Death Valley by New Years.

Make sure you go out and remove that snow off the roof before it forms into an ice cube with extra weight on the roof. Even with the interior brace damage can still be done with all that snow on the roof. Here in Winnipeg I have brushed the roof of my Boler at least 4 times already. And winter only starts in 5 more days on the 21th of Dec.

Kevin K... The poor little camper looks so cold. I have a big blanket and a tarp to keep mine warm for the winter...lol. I'm looking forward to 70+ temps as I'm ready for some camping!

We're in Perry,GA right now for the remainder of the month we paid for. On the 23rd we're running 600 miles north to Indianapolis to spend Christmas with our son's family. Back to GA on the 27th. Finish out the paid month and then on to Florida and who knows where else? Free advice to all of you still working: retire just as young as you can make the finances work. Life is short even if you live to 100.

John, don't feel bad because, yes, he or she was no doubt sleeping. I have seen several donkeys standing away from each other facing water, as if they were looking at it, but apparently just sleeping. Very strange sight. That burro or donkey or whatever it was probably went on to somewhere else shortly after you left. They may stand to be ready against predators.

Yep. Watching my doctor neighbor getting his brand new garage shingled in the snow. Good thing my husband forgot to take out that 100# bag of shell corn out of the back of my jeep. Shouldn't need 4 wheel drive.

Unless the mice get a whiff of it, then you may have a mess on your hands. They love free food!!
