Took delivery of my new Escape 17 today. "Toad" is in the driveway and I'm just resting after bringing her home.

Tammy and Reese are pure pleasure to deal with. Tammy, somehow, managed to get the "Toad" decal and had it applied in the last couple days. I tried to video the orientation, but there were too many distractions to do a proper video and if I'm looking through the camera, I'm not paying attention to the information. Have to arrange a date to do that video, without people interupting and distracting noises.

Toad is everything I expected and more. One of the mores is the screen door that I thought was an option. Fridge is even bigger than I remember. A buddy came over to have a look. He does corporate interior design. He noted the quality materials, the clean and tasteful appearance of materials and fit and finish. Somehow, I think he'll be a customer before long.

Tried to take it easy coming home. Started out at 80 kph on the freeway and soon crept up to 90 and then 100. The RAV4 V6 Sport handles "Toad" with ease. On the big hill I took the slow lane and dropped into 3rd. Ended up passing a Dodge Caravan that was in the middle lane.

Made the hour and a half trip with the license plate for the trailer sitting on the back seat.

Next week we'll pack the trailer, trying to keep it as light as possible. I think I'll have to get those polycarbonate wine glasses from Williams and Sonoma for Leslie ( the Old Bag ). I already got myself the beer mugs.

Week after, we head for Princeton, Merritt, maybe Salmon Arm on our maiden voyage.

High Glen, Congradulations on a Reace Special!! I DO have a question for youu. You mentioned the make of your tow vehicle, is it equipped any chance with an automatic transmission? If so, you might be wise NOT to tow the trailer in 4th gear. Making that "cut" is a feat in itself, but making it with no plate on the tow is simply amazing what with the R.C.M.Police out everywhere on the weekends.

RAV has a five-speed automatic, so I would drop down to 4th unless I'm on the flat. It also has a warning light for transmission if it is getting over-heated. I have to go back and read the manual again.

Came very close to blowing the torque converter on the Exploder by towing in overdrive. Don't want to do that again.

Sounds like you have a good handle on the towing job. Poly/carb wine glasses come real cheap if you start attending some of the local r/v shows. One is even able to buy poly/carb wine glass holders available in white OR red wine glass shapes.

NOW, get out there an install that L/plate, LOL!!!!

Hi: Glenn...Be prepared..."You got some 'splainin' to do". Every time we go away with "Our Escape Hatch" and stop to pick up some fresh veggies or milk there's a strange man hanging around my wife and the trailer when I get back!!! They seem to notice on the way by and make a fast U turn to get back before we take off. I hop you enjoy TOAD...
Alf S. North shore of Lake Erie p.s. Idea for bumper sticker " I GO WHERE I'M TOAD TO"
