Today is my birthday....

I have a confession to make. Ever since the age of computers and on line identity theft, I never use my correct birthday date. When registering for anything on line, Walmart, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Perkins Pancakes, Ruby Tuesday, Logan's Steakhouse all these entities have marketing ploys where they gather data on your shopping as well as selling your personal info to third parties. Thus I always use either an ex-wives birthday date or my dogs, or just some random date.

Occasionally I receive an email, today it was from a pancake house.
"Congratulations, Jim on your birthday, enjoy a free pancake breakfast on us."
At first I thought, what the H*** is going on and then realized my ploy to remain anonymous is working.
I'm going out to breakfast today. Can't wait for my birthday next month to see what I'm getting.............

Happy Un-Birthday Jim! Now if you could only doctor up your ID, you could get a free breakfast a Denny's.

Can you describe your birthday suit? For the ladies, of course. Men don't care that much about fashion.

The trouble with fabrications is that the details of them are more difficult to remember than the truth. You may need a spreadsheet to remind you what you told to whom.

I agree if these were important connections, but they are not, just on line forms to get special savings coupons, like the old S&H green stamps.
I never give any correct info about myself on line unless it is thru a secure connection for example.

You know I like your plan! I have seen things on line that I wanted to look at only to find I have to "sign up" first. Then when i start to do that hey ask for info I don't want to give...had never thought about making something up

Have you reached "old fart" status yet? Something to be proud of.

I just had a thought..

This is the inverse of being born on February 29th.

You'll be right up there with Noah, you and your escape ark.

It would reduce the number of birthdays but not the number of years. Besides, being an "old fart" is a distinct honor. Means you don't have to work any more, don't have to go to school any more, and makes you eligible for senior coffee and cokes at McD's.

Having monthly birthdays may make you forget your real ones and that is sort of like reducing them, in your mind!!

Birthdays and the Shortness of Life

My dad died young (45) so I thought I might as well.

To maximize my life, all my jobs lasted 5 years and generally were in different fields to provide the feeling that they were different lifes.

It provided fresh stimulation in that I had to become reborn to a new technology, a fresh set of challenges.

Since we don't get to extend time too much, extending variety is another way.
