I was able to take a jaunt today to get rid of my cabin fear, not with the Scamp, but on my Yamaha XT250. I rode 22 miles and it felt sooooo goood!

I rode up toward the Organ Mountains to the La Cueva & Dripping Springs Area.

It was a little cool by the time I started home; should have worn heaver gloves and an additional vest under my jacket.

Some photos.

La Cueva, the cave's entrance is the black area by the green plants at the base of the massive sand colored wedge of a rock in the second photo. Dripping Springs is located far into a canyon behind the old Cox Family Ranch homestead, now a visitor center.

Oh, but they look so nice with a sprinkling of snow, like powered sugar.

Normally they look these photos below. Except the last one, looks good, no?

Really cool pictures. Brings back memories. Two years ago I rode a bicycle from CA to D.C.. Went through Phoenix to Lordsburgh, then Las Cruses, Alamagordo, Ruidoso and on. You have some of the most striking scenery in the country. Also, the bike shop in Las Cruses is great. Thanks for sharing.

Today, I too took a short jaunt on my bike, much to the shagrin of the TRAILER GODDESS. Do ya think I might be able to make things right before Christmas, LOL????

Good riding, Doug! But I am pretty sure the roads are pretty clear of any snow in the Vancouver area, you could clear the ol' head better out in the fresh BC air than in y're house.

I can see ol' Chester not wanting to get out on the snowy roads up in cold Grande Cache as well as not wanting to see any snow, on any mountains.

Yes, we here at lower elevations have yet to experience this years first DUMPING. Places further north in B.C. have see the dreaded Canadian Grass now for weeks. Record setting snowfall accumulations already [at] Whistler/Blackcomb (scene of the 2010 Winter Olympics).

One (winter season coming up) winter, I'd love to spend a couplea weeks down your way, suntanning in the snow is NOT a very enjoyable past-time, LOL!!!

(Sorry for hijacking your thread too BTW!! but I just couldn't resist.)

This week it wouldn't be wise to be out and about, but in a week or so, it should be different. Unless we have crossed over into a whole new weather era.

Yep, it will get better, then it will get bad again. A cycle for sure.

Somebodies travel trailer was blown onto it's side while parked in the Fort Bliss FamCamp in El Paso today. Some very bad winds were blowing at times. It wasn't an egg shape so the wind could get a grip onto it, too bad for sure. Not sure if anyone was in it at the time or not. Some ride if they were.
http://www.lcsun-news.com/las_cruces-news/ci_13951868 - I just heard on TV, at Aguirre Spring BLM Area on the east side of the Organ Mts from us, they had 95 mph winds...wow! I would not have wanted to be on that road today.

Photo of the road to the campground taken last year.
