Tornado Sky

Just before dusk on the day I pulled into my Nebraska farm host's place we got a tornado warning for our area. Not having spent too much in high-probability tornado areas I told my host I was going to leave Otra hooked up so we could make a run for it if one showed up. He looked at me funny and nixed that bright idea real quick. "You see a funnel, you get in that house. Quick!" was all he said. The thought of leaving Otra to the tender mercies of a Nebraska tornado was almost too much! Nevertheless I unhooked her and put down the jacks. Just before dark this was what the sky over us looked like. Note the tree in the bottom left corner. Otra rocked a little that night (I slept like the proverbial baby), but the tornado missed us. It went to our north about three miles and took out 40-some-odd pivots and a couple of roofs but no body got hurt.

Wow, you've captured both the unsurpassed beauty and the massively destructive force of nature all in that one shot. Hard to believe all that beauty can create such havoc.

I think Charles rode through one of those too. other trailers were rolled, his Casita shimmied. or something. well the story is told much better by Charles.
That storm in Texas in Mary F.'s Casita was close enough for me and no tornado. but the trailer really didn't move after that first hit. I guess if that first hit is to be a tornado you better watch out.
The only thing is why would you go to the guys house, Robert? did he have a cellar? if it's my house or a Fiberglass trailer, I'll take the trailer, more aerodynamic. and I agree, great picture.
