I currently tow my 13" Burro with a Surburban, has any body towed a 13' trailer with a 4cyl Ford 2wd ranger?
If so what gas milage did you get?

You should be fine. I towed my 13 with a 4 banger Element.

Can't help you with the milage, but I am *guessing* it will be a little better than you get with the "burb.

I towed a UHaul CT13 with a '92 4WD Toyota shortbed pickup with the 22RE 4cyl and a five-speed stick. As I recall, I got 14-16mpg with it towing.

A small engine that is taxed won't get much better mileage than a big engine that isn't. If you tow 2000 miles a year, but drive an additional 12,000 miles, your real savings will be in your daily driving with the smaller engine. If you only use your tow vehicle to tow with, use the one that's most comfortable 'cause it won't cost you any more towing!

I get about 14mpg towing my 17' Bigfoot with my V6 Tundra. I get about 13 mpg towing my 17' Bigfoot with my Excursion. Not loaded, however, my Tundra does 21mg, but the Excursion does 13 mpg. However, I did just finish a 400 mile round-trip with four adults and luggage and got 15.5 mpg!

Exactly

I towed my 13' Burro with a 4 cylinder Toyota Tacoma. My fuel mileage was almost cut in half. Especially on inclines. I bought a new high powerd V6 and it hardly noticed the 13' was behind it. Fuel mileage was only cut by a few miles at best.

After looking at used trucks and the cost I'm just going to use the Burb as both my daily driver and tow.

I'm glad you're happy with a resolution, Jim, but why not consider still towing with the Original SUV (yeah, I've heard the Suburban fan rhetoric...) and getting something more economical for the daily drive? Then the "new" purchase wouldn't need to be a capable tug.

I averaged 19 when towing with the Element..

I would LOVE to get that NOT towing with my Jeep.

Because we have a 13" Burro and a 25" Sunlite we need the Burb and for larger furniture I also need the Burb, So in looking around a small car makes better sence along with the Burb. Th2 $125 fillup are hard to take though..
