Another thing we've started doing, more for convenience, but it does save weight.

We carry enough of those disposable plastic plates to last the trip. They are thin, light weight and shiny. But we don't dispose them. We carry a clean plate zip lock bag and a dirty plate zip lock bag.

After a meal, we just wipe them as well as practical with a paper towel and stick them in the dirty bag. Once home they all go in the dishwasher and are ready for the next outing.

Gosh, and here all along I thought the reason my Scamp was egg shaped and bulged out at the sides, was so it was preformed for all the STUFF I take. I'm with Suz, went to a 3500# axle so I can cram more weight inside.

Donna, You are my kinda gal. There is absolutly no reason to have toys if you can't get them to the playground.
