[QUOTE=Kai in Seattle;582224]AMERIGO 1973 FG-16

Gutted entirely except for molded ceiling and wooden upper cabinets (doors off), no batteries, no propane tanks, no plywood floor, our 1973 amerigo FG-16 level tongue weight was 90 pounds using our home scale, which is about 5 pounds lighter than the scale at the doctor's office. /QUOTE]

Did you have the trailer remove it's shoes and take out it's wallet, keys and cell phone?

Heck, we even gave it a haircut and clipped its nails. We made sure it wasn't even breathing heavy. And it was in dry weather, so it wasn't wet. A lady never weighs herself wet!

thanks

I'd like to add my thanks for this. We've just begun to look into a trailer to take to off road events. This list helps alot as we would like to pull it with either my Jeep Comanche pick up or the wife's Hemi Durango.

THANKS

update 73 amerigo weight dry & loaded

1973 amerigo FG-16

Gutted weight: estimated 900 lbs, tongue weight 90 pounds (home scale)
almost finished weight, dry: weighed by weighmaster: 1760
finished weight, weighed by weighmater: 1980
loaded, Oregon truck weight scale, automated: 2150
(food, clothing, ice, water, games, dog bed, everything for a 3-day trip)
Loaded Tongue weight: 260 with door shut, home scale
Loaded tongue weight with door fully open: 280 (that darn center of gravity keeps shifting!) home scale

Peanut's weight, like mine, is not a stable thing.

Finally got my 1985 UHaul VT weighed, stripped of everything except cushions battery and full propane tank, includes 2 deep cycle batteries and assorted electrical, no furnace. total weight un-hitched 2400# hitched to tug not on scale 2200# = tongue wt 200#,add to that the assorted stuff we usually bring along + 440# then food and clothes and the 2500# axle is over loaded. Note the one VT factory tag notes GVWR at 2080#

Never had our 17' boler trailer empty before the ministry says it weighs only 780 kg empty. Converted 1720 lbs empty.

We are fixing it up and will add weight in the process but thought there weights were lot more.

Explains why my wife could move it with propane tanks off and empty in our driveway.

Not hard to pick tongue up with battery and tanks off, well balanced units, my cousin has a 18' airstream and we both together could never pick it's tongue up.

Propane, battery, water, bedding, food, apliances, really add up.
Sorry our smaller battery is in above total.
Replacing our 27 size agm deep cycle with a 31 size deep cycle gelcell house battery. The price hurt hope it is worth the cost.

Weight of Egg Campers

Do we have the tongue weight of the Egg Camper? I have tried searching the thread, but with no luck.

Thanks,
Tonie

PS: Thank you so much for the chart that gives all the weight information! I refer to it often! I'm still looking for a trailer, but the chart has saved me from making some mistakes, and I thank you for that.

Tonie, there's Egg Camper info in Jon V's database here: http://lakeshoreimages.com/spreadsheets/Weight.xls

Look at records 105-108

Today we drove the Snoozy down to the truck scale (cost $11!) We had been told the /dry weight was 2,400 lbs. Left the packed linens, heater, cookstove, and toaster oven in. Weight was 2,460 lbs. There may have been a leetle bit of water still in the fresh tank also.

Did you uncouple the hitch and drop the tongue jack? that would give you total weight. If you weighed the trailer attached to the tow vehicle, the tongue weight would not be included in the 2460 weight.

Jack L Yup. Left trailer behind, on tongue jack. Next we'll try weighing it fully packed

See the spreadsheet linked in post #297. It has data for a number of Escape 21s.

Speaking of the Escape 21, I'd like to add weights for the new 2017 bodies for the Escape trailers. To stay consistent with the original list, I need both axle & tongue weights. You can mail the information to me at vermiye@oswego.edu
