so... don't put more than about 250 lbs in the trailer or you'll exceed the trailer's GVW.

remember, water is about 8 lbs a gallon, so a 10 gallon tank is 80 lbs (I have no idea if your trillium has any plumbing or water storage)

Yup. Pretty sobering numbers. I'm curious to see if anyone else with a Jubilee discover similar numbers. We've towed our trailer over 30,000 kms in the last 8 years and I'm sure we've exceeded the 250 lbs threshold, mind you, the car is the main carrier. There is a 12 gallon fresh water tank which we've never used. Instead, we bring 5 or 6 gallons and refill as needed. At 8+ lbs per gallon that still adds up. Not to mention our Honda 2000 generator.

Does anyone have a dry weight on a 1975 Hunter I? It does not have as much equipment as a Jr or II.

1975 Hunter I dry weight.

I was able to get a dry weight on my 1975 Hunter I yesterday. It was 1200 lbs. It does have a propane tank on the tongue. I will add stabilizers jacks on 4 corners,a spare tire and carrier, and a battery.

There are eight Scamp 16's in the database. The first one is a DLX. The last two are not specified. (You likely want a tow rating of 3500 / 350 and watch the total weight limits, esp if there is a lot of cargo or people in the tow vehicle.)

The columns are:
D: Axle weight
E: Tongue weight
F: Total weight
H: Year weighed (not the year of the trailer).
That 3,080 Scamp was ours! It was loaded for a long 3 month trip and still had partially filled gray/black tanks. Our Scamp had the front bath and most options, including awning, microwave, furnace, dual propane, A/C, big fridge (loaded), solar panel on top, larger/heavier 155 amp golf cart battery and full fresh water tanks.
That same Scamp would only weigh 2,540 lbs when I took the extra propane tank off and loaded lightly for trips with our Subaru Outback.

I at one time posted mine as the heaviest in the group, then I was corrected. Mine at 3060 was loaded for travel with two full fresh water tanks but gray and black were empty. (and equipment for three hobbies loaded)

Guess I should add my 2018 Chevy Colorado LT Crew Cab/ 1006 Scamp 19 combination to the list here. Can't tell you the tongue weight. Steer Axle: 2920 lbs, Drive Axle: 2960 lbs, and Trailer Axle: 2800 lbs, for a gross weight of 8680 lbs. Nothing in fresh water tank, gray tank empty and black water tank deleted. Was loaded for travel along with about a bushel of apples and a peck of different types of squash for the wife's sisters in the south where you can't get them fresh. Also about 5 gallons of spring and distilled water. I'm "high maintenance" so have to haul along the CPAP breathing machine, blood pressure monitor, and blood sugar monitor.

I came down Boot Jack hill in Ridgeway, Pa and I should have taken the truck route. Have always taken the truck route when I was running big rigs, except before it was built. Never thought about being overweight!!! If you got here, you have gone to far! There is a church parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Before the truck route was built, a friend of mine who was hauling a gas tanker went right thru that parking lot just after church let out on a Sunday morning. Luckly everybody had left the parking lot!

Next trip I will remember my weight!!!

That's a pretty low gross weight for a detour. An empty 1-ton diesel would exceed it.

If you did your weighing at a CAT scale, all you need to do is a second weighing (much cheaper than the first) of the truck alone to calculate the tongue weight.

The gross weight (truck axles + trailer Axle) minus the truck alone weight = the trailer weight. The trailer weight minus the axle weight = the tongue weight.

Is that axle weight or total weight? Would it be possible to get the tongue weight for a complete data set?

Axle weight. The Durango came in at 5000 even with us in it - 7260 total.

I'll add a tongue weight someday. It took two years to do this

I hear you. I haven’t managed to get a weight in a decade of ownership. Once it’s actually loaded, we’re usually on a tight schedule to get to our destination. We drive right past a scale as we leave town, but it’s always closed when we go by.

There are two Bigfoot 25B25RQ models. The original is 25' 6" long, but most sold in the last 12 years have had the front storage box. The front storage box models are 27' 6" and over 700 pounds heavier when normally loaded. We found it extremely hard to find a 2010 or newer 25RQ without the front storage box.

Our 2003 25RQ was the 25' 6" version. We have a Shurline Scale. When I weighed the camper alone the first time it weighed slightly over 6,200 pounds with a tongue weight of 1,100 pounds, with the fresh tank full (45 gallons), at the high end for our 2015 F150, EB, Max Tow.

We decided to not carry everything under the sun, and got the weight down to 5,900 pounds and a tongue weight of under 950 pounds, again with the fresh tank full (45 gallons).

We pick up our new-to-us 2016 25B25RQ Bigfoot on January 11th, south of Vancover. Then head to AM Solar to rip the single panel 140 watt solar off the roof and install 600 watts on top and a new Victron controller and battery monitor.

It will be interesting to see how heavy a post-bankrupcy 25RQ weighs. From my experience with our 2003 25RQ, and looking at the weights on the spreadsheet, most of the Bigfoots weighed were probably with the front storage box.

Food for thought,

Perry
