I like the Trill better.I beleive in the long run you will too. Those none FG units are heavier and look pretty but will it stand up over the long run? On this forum the vast majority have FiberGlass unit and some over 30 to 35 years old and as good as new. As for cost that would be up to you. I took a good look at the photos and that Trill looks real good to me.
I have sold 3 Fiberglass unit in the last 1 1/2 years and all of them have sold at a good price.

I think the Trill will maintain it's value and usability a lot longer.

I think you'll find this board is a little biased. And with good reason.
I like the Trill too, it looks pretty nice.

Gilles,
Fantastic! I owned 3 Trilliums last year. and still own my original 1978 Trillium 4500 Deluxe. I always wanted a 5500. Yours is in excellent condition. Plus you have the double wheel and that fancy drop-down awning. $9,500 is a very good price. I would have paid that in a heart beat. You did good...real GOOD! Enjoy your new priceless memories you will be making soon!!!!!!!!!!

This must be super rare - according to this couple only 65 5500's were made and the ones I have seen have been single axle models.
I'd get it just for that awning =)

I think, in general, dual axle trailers are more stable and less prone to sway. I know that is the case with my Fiber Stream.

Gilles,
I think your wording was a bit misleading. I think all of the replies including me, assumed that you are the "NEW" owner of this "Rare Beauty". But you are not. With that said, unless you are at a full-hook-up you don't have to worry about a shower. A true oven never seems to be used very often. In which case just buy yourself a $40 to $60 toaster oven for most your needs. I assume that this unit has brakes. They may not be hooked-up. Just fugure you will have to take in to a RV service joint to update the brakes and of course grease the bearings...not a real biggie!
As far as A/C, unless you plan on spending alot of time in Florida, the solution is: Have your roof vent replaced by a "Fantastic Fan" I did this 2 years ago and we have camped in upper 90 degree temps in pure sun exposure and we were very comfortable. These run from about $150 to $225 depending on the model you pick. That should do ya!!!! That price still seems very reasonable. If you should knock off any more, it's funds that can go for these updates I just mentioned. Let me know what happens and if you got anymore knocked off on the price. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Your right Dave I'm not the owner of this cuty, I just ask for help to make the right choice before I buy her. That's why I draw a smile on the back licence plate, This way I'm sure those fiber hunter among us didn't find her
I already call , take lot of information and send a friend to inspect her .
No futher detail until I get her secure in my garage!
By the way if your the 'Trilliun King' with a 4500 deluxe does this make me the 'Trillium Emperor' with a 5500 4 wheels?

Gilles,
That is funny! Yes indeed, you will be the Emperor! I just said that because of owning 2 trillium 4500's and 1 trillium 1300 at the same time. I guess you could say I could be your Trillium ARMY!!!!

Well I got good new for you Dave I will not be the 'Trillium Emperor'! The rig is just a 'Monney pit' . All the saler promise was just BS, the floor stucture was so damage I was scare to walk in! Trace of mosture every where , all the cabinet have to be restore, water get in from windows , owning and top ventilation, lot of mosture arround the electric water heater and the pump suggest a very severe plumbing problem...I dont even try to get a lower price because the consignation saler try to get a $1000 deposit (under the table) from me to save is income he said..... This is a 'RED FLAG" in my book...
A red light blink in my head 'scammer, scammer' So I get away and decide to do more research and I find a Casite 17" spirit Deluxe 2001 15miles from my home in Québec Canada!(Very rare here)I will tell you in a new post all the story about this beautyful rig I found, I'm lucky men
Here 2 pics of the 5500 Trillium in deep deep trouble...

Gilles;
Congratulations on your tandem Trillium 5500. We live in Alberta and have had our 5500 for 7 years. I have done extensive renovations to it.
Made the back table into a permanent bed.
Shortened the bed and added cupboards
added under bed storage
added corner shelves
Added TV, Microwave, took out oven and put in Air conditioning
Added gray water tank
Removed toilet and just use a Porta Potty
Installed bike rack and storage at back
Added dual Propane tanks to front along with the spare tire
Added lights in cupboard
Added new tail lights
Added awning.
I would be interested to know if your 5500 has leaf springs or torsion axels?
What tire sizes?
How much space between tires
between front and back of wheel well?
Are the tandem units on a separate frame of on the Trillium frame?
If you photos of what we have done there is an old post of ours on this site, or I can send more pictures.
Keep in touch
Brian
