Hello! I'm new to the world of FG Eggs and learning all I can. I was looking through the list of manufacturers and cant figure out the difference between two seemingly different yet same manufacturers named "Trillium" and "Team Trillium" which produces the "Outback" model. Can anybody shed some light on this and the difference between the Eggs?
Thanks,
Melissa

Short answer, theTrillium Outback is manufacturered in Alberta Canada
Trillium RV is a United States company headquartered in Carson City, NV
They are two distinctly different companies, manufacturing different trailers. Just share a similiar name.

Just to add to what Donna said.
Both of the companies are/were using the original 70's Trillium design for the exterior. To add to the confusion, Escape Trailers in Chilliwack were producing the exterior shells for Trillium RV however that is no longer being done. Escape Trailers also makes a Trillium body trailer with plywood instead of fiberglass internal cabinets.

Do they use the the same body molds? If not, why such a similar name?

Quite a few trailers have been based on the same mold (or reasonable facsimile) throughout the last few decades. They stemmed from various attempts at reviving past companies or competing with other products, each one offering something a little different. As others pointed out, as of today there are at least three manufacturers making new ones that look like the original 1970's Trillium. Escape has the plywood interior whereas Outback and the new Trillium both have fiberglass interior but differ mainly in layout differences and finish, as well as different equipment and options.

Hi: melissab... Here's a pic. I took when we arrived in P.E.I. Canada this summer. We parked our '07 Escape cheek to jowl with a '78 Trillium. Notice the family resemblance???

Thanks e'one! That does clear up things. Still kindof silly that 2 seperate companies would want to use an almost identical name. As long as the quality are equal I'll look at floorplans, features and of course prices.
Happy Egging!

We're all glad to help Melissa. I'd also suggest you check out all the current brands. I see on the Escape forum that Reace has posted pictures of the "in progress" molds for the 15 footer. That's a new size for Escape and I THINK one of the few manufacturers to ever create a 15 footer. The floor plans are on the Escape website

Unless you count the original Trillium 4500. Wasn't that considered a 15-footer (and if so, you'd have the Surfside, etc. clones, too).
I think the Trillium Jubilee may have been 15 feet too. And there were a few Boler 15's.
That's not to take away from how cool the new Escape 15 is bound to be, of course

A 15 footer?! Awesome! Trying to balance a family of 4 with the convenience, mobility and economy of a smaller trailer. I think a 13ft is just a bit too cramped but not sure we want to go the 16 or 17 ft route either as our tow vehicle is an '05 Toyota Sienna so want to keep the weight manageable. My folks live in WY and we want to be able to traverse the countryside climbing whatever hills/mountains are between Florida and WY. I'll look at that Escape site for sure.
Thanks again!
Melissa

My bad, thanks for the clarification Raya. so how about the codicil of "current" manufacturers. I'm not sure if TrilliumRV is at the manufacturing phase for a 15 footer since they've split from Escape building the shells.

Note that the interior of the 15' Escape is a stretched 13'. I'd be hard-pressed to imagine a family of four in there.
The exterior of the 13' Escape is based on Trillium molds, but the 15' is a shortened 17' Escape.

Our family of 4 does quite well in our Trillium 13'. It all depends on how much time you spend in the trailer. We basically use it as a sleeping/storage area and do all our cooking outside under the awning. If it gets rainy we set up the table and play cards or board games. If it's raining for more then a day then we head somewhere else - no matter what size trailer you have 2 bored kids are a draining experience

Indeed. "It all depends." We two find 17 feet a bit cramped, especially with dogs. Individual results will vary.
