I bet that explaining the whole story would take an entire book. Your best bet is to go to a FG meet and sit around the campfire with one of those guys. I do know that they have collaborated with one, then another, at different points in time and made attempts to build trailers together, and then parted their own separate ways. Molds got passed around, cloned, recreated from plugs, and morphed over the years. Friendships were made and lost. There has actually been quite a few companies based on the same original trailer over the past decades. And all of the current companies, including TrilliumRV, are "reborn" entities.

You should basically see this as a big fiberglass family tree. And they're all good trailers. I just don't understand why the two Trillium companies here still confuse people by using the same name.

Now picture yourself trying to explain that to someone else!

I seem to recall a thread about some one writing a book about the history of fiberglass trailers. Anyone know if it ever got published? Raz

Don't know about a book, but Matt was making a video history: Fiberglass Travel Trailer Documentary. Maybe he'll let us know how it's going. He's still active here on FiberglassRV: Last Activity: Yesterday 06:56 PM

And then there's THIS Trillum, as shown in the Recently Updated Entry at the Rigorously Fact-Checked E-How website: How to Restore a Trillium Camper | eHow.com
For purposes of positioning on the flow chart, can anyone identify the location of the smoke-spewing factory in the background? Perspective in the photo indicates that it was taken in the staging are where fresh-off-the-assembly-line Trilliums like the one pictured await their new owners....

How to Restore a Trillium Camper
By Mark Spowart, eHow Contributor updated: February 15, 2011

Trillium Trailers were first manufactured in the 1970s.
First produced in the 1970s, Trillium Trailers are small fiberglass travel trailers that were easily identified with an emblem of a Trillium flower on the outside of the camper. Restoring vintage campers is giving once old and discarded campers like the Trillium Trailers a new life. When done correctly, you not only gain an updated functional camper, you will have also increased the value of the trailer. Your restoration project will be determined by how much work needs to be done. A full restoration project requires you to strip the Trillium Trailer right to the bare walls.

Doesn't matter if they can spell Trillium. Every time someone goes there, they get paid. ehow and about are useless sites. Just enough information to get you in deep dodo.

Ah, Francesca, the picture looks like you should add "Trillium (Russia)" to the flow chart Oh dear!

p.s. If Raz sounds a tad testy, he's just tuckered out! Just finished building and installing kitchen cabinets & countertops for us ... including The Dreaded Plumbing It's all bee-u-tiful
