Try Before You Buy ?? Rent a Scamp!

For those interested in trying a small trailer before buying one, Dans Trailers in Northern California (Near Sacramento) offers both a 13' and a 16' Scamp for rental use. Here is a link to his site:

Renting for a "try-out" could be really helpful for some people to decide how the size etc. suits them. The rental fee seems quite reasonable also.

Interesting weights quoted for the Scamp 13&16.

I agree. Renting is how we found that a tent trailer would work okay for us, except that my wife was not comfortable with having nothing but tenting between her and the bears.

Good spotting, Ron. In the case of the 13', "interesting" is generous; I'd say "fictional" or "misleading". Dan's claims 980 lb, Scamp says 1200 lb. Weight depends on equipment, of course, but Dan's is listing
  • large battery
  • propane tank
  • two-burner kitchen stove
  • kitchen sink with fresh water
  • refrigerator
  • heater, and
  • porta-potty.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.
