Soooo, bought a trillium, yay! Towed home with BF truck.... Only to discover it is heavier than I can tow witH MY SUV so for now I will borrow the truck, but be looking to trade or buy a lighter replacement at some point.... Will happily putter and Do some work on what I have. Sad though, cause this was supposed to be my trailer to turn me into a snail, always with home on my back

Try a 4500 with a front dinette. No bathroom, but if you are by your self, then a porta pottie, and this:

Don't give up on the brand- like David says, you can likely tow a 4500. I've been doing so for many years/miles, and my Kia Sportage 4-cyl's tow capacity is given as 2,000 pounds.

I would like to spruce up the interior a little for this summer, until I find a lighter model.... But if I am passing this one along I don't want to do too much that someone might not appreciate! This model has the pressed wood look interior.

Question: would most people interested in these Trilliums prefer original to spruced up, therefore slightly less original? Thoughts?

So what about this specific trailer attracted YOU? It will probably be the same thing that attracts the next owner. I would say "spruce it up" if you were keeping it, BUT unless that means repairing something that is not now functioning, just make sure it is CLEAN. At this point if you are selling it at your 1st opportunity, anything other than immaculate cleanliness will be a wasted effort.

Definitely going to replace the vent cover, elbow grease.... What I liked about this one is the great shape it's in mechanically, the fiberglass build and the potential.... If only I could make it lighter!!!

According to the weight listed on the specs name plate it weighs 2000lbs.... And my honda CRV is not rated for that... My Trillium Jubilee has brakes, but that doesn't help in going forward,

I'm tempted to look around for something that will tow it.... But that seems silly I already own a perfectly good vehicle!

Brakes are a good thing on a trailer that size.

Where do you plan to travel? Mostly flat lands or some mountain areas?

What year is your CRV? thnxs

Weight given on your plate is likely "dry weight", and possibly a shot-in-the-dark at that. My 4500's dry weight is given as 1400 pounds, but I've weighed it bone empty and never gotten a figure less than 1550.

You'd sure be doing us all a favor if you ran that puppy across some scales... There are so few Jubilees out there, and I don't think anyone's ever reported an actual "ready to camp' weight, or even an actual measured empty weight. Got a landfill or highway scale nearby? You can get a pretty accurate total weight figure if you weigh tug and tow together, go back with just the tug, and do the math. That's what I do.

I hear ya about matching trailer and tug- that's exactly the approach I used when shopping. Perfectly good daily driver, so trailer had to be within its capacity. Been happy for nine years now, no changes to the combination.

You might consider offering to trade the Jubilee for a smaller trailer. Could be just the thing for someone who wants a little more room and has the tug that can handle it.

And don't forget- the Jubilee is one of the "rarer" Trilliums. Don't know how many they made, but nowhere near the number of 1300/4500 models.

Mostly flat lands, not much in the way of mountains here on PEI! Though the eventual plan is touring off-island with it....then there will be hills

Sounds good Bee. I have been to the east coast many. many times. I recall one good climb on the Cabot Trail but not much like the West Coast mountains.

On Edit... We did a very steep climb going up to Stowe Vermont a few years ago. We were towing our 2,500 Coleman pop up with a 150HP Nissan mini van. It was a 1st gear climb.

This makes me very sad and yeah... kinda angry for you The Jubilee is a special Trillium. If you decide to trade, make certain you are getting value-for-value... whatever that means for YOU.
