I wouldn't think there would be any duty, as items manufactured within North America are exempt under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

US Customs Fees

We bought a used Casita in Victoria BC in 05 and a new Escape in Chilliwack BC in 11 and paid no customs fees either time. David

Watch the exchange rate when buying new across the border...
Today it is barely over a penny difference, If you are an American and wish to order a new Escape, the exchange rate could really affect the price, depending on when you order or when you pay.

I just talked to the guys at the port of Rooseville.

They told me that if it's made in Canada, there's no duty.

However, you'll need a Certificate of Compliance with DOT, EPA, and several other agencies that specifies the VIN or S/N of the unit on the manufacturer's letterhead that is signed by an officer of the manufacturer. ...at least that's what I understood.

I really hate jumping through hoops! But the people at Escape and BIGFOOT will probably help based on what I have heard (so far) of their reputations.

I wouldn't count on that....

I'd check with customs, instead of trusting a forum, for up to date info.

The good folks at Escape provided all of the paperwork to get thru customs although we were around for 45 min by a pinheaded bureaucrat at the Blaine,WA border crossing
