VIN for Compact Junior?
Does anyone know where the VIN number for a compact junior is located?
Thanks,

Hi, Angie
I've only ever seen one of the Hunter/Compact line of trailers.
This is a picture of the ID tag on one I saw this summer.
It's labeled "Hunter" but I understand it's the same company.
As I recall, this tag was on the back of the trailer to the right of the door.
More pictures of this trailer at "Hunter"/ Compact II Yard Art???
Good Luck!
Francesca

Angie,
Our 1973 Compact Jr. has a 4 digit serial number on a pop riveted aluminum plate at the bottom of the exterior front wall. It's on the street side about 1" up from the bottom and 8" in from the corner. The paint is very faded but the serial number is stamped and legible. You can see the plate at the lower right of this photo.

[/ATTACH] Ours had a clear and notarized title, but no label like the one shown in Francesca's post or any evidence in the gelcoat of it's ever been in that location.
Tom; Did it look like the label in the second picture?

Man, that trailer in Okanogan has got to be an early one...
It's got a four digit number, too- but the first digit is "0"
Full number: "0125"
Here's a blowup of the ID plate in my first post- is this pretty much like your tag, Tom?
Cool!

Looks like a good place to mount one if it's missing!

Hi, Angie
I think I was wrong about the label location on the Okanagan '71 trailer.
My memory's hazy about that short encounter- I now think it more likely that the label's on the front, like Tom's '73.
That object at the left of my picture looks like a propane inlet or something...
Here's a link to another pic in Tom's collection- when magnified, I think you can see a label next to the point where such a fitting is attached.

Happy HUNTERing!
