Vintage and Unusual RV's

Ran across this great video of some old classics and pretty cool designs... Couldn't see that this had been shared before on this forum and thought it might be of interest...

Wonder how long it will be before my Scamp 16 is a "vintage"

The single axle Airstream at the beginning and end is a 1963-1968, 25' Globetrotter. My late wife and I spent a year full timing in one waaaay back in 1978, pulling it over 20,000 miles with a 1972 Blazer 4x4..

When we showed up at an Airstream gathering we were asked "Where are your Grandparents (that own that trailer) at?"

The current definition of vintage by most folks is 25 years old or older but there are some vintage groups/rally's that say 30 years or older.

Either way most of the vintage rally folks are all good with letting your join their meets regardless of age of your trailer. As its been pointed out to me at a number of vintage rally's there are not many that can tell the difference between a 10 year old scamp and a 25 year old one

Wow - fascinating link! Thanks. Really interesting to see some of these classics, as well as some of the very innovative ways people created the early ancestors to our fiberglass home-away-from-home...

We stopped there on our way out west last summer. Definitely worth a visit!

last year we did 3 vintage rallies. two with our '46 teardrop, one with the Uhaul. we do a vintage rally twice a year that a KOA owner organizes. she isn't very strict about age, as long as participants will show their trailer when she invites the public in on saturday afternoon. one time we take the teardrop, the other time we take the Uhaul. there is even a Aliner there. at a TCT rally there was a Trillium we camped with at the KOA, the only fiberglass camper at that TCT rally.
