Was There Ever A Fiberglass Motorhome?

Was there ever a molded fiberglass motorhome because I could swear in some photos I was looking at of older RVs that one looked like it was molded fiberglass? Maybe just the back end living quarters? I know they used to do the unibody stuff which might have been a candidate for being molded. This was a long time ago like in the 70's. Ah, the 70's, the good old days!

Yes, in fact Scamp built a few on a Ranger chassis (there was one for sale several months back that was built on a Dodge chassis) and a couple of other brands on Toyotas. There's one still being made (probably others) called the "Born Free."

I used to see this one at the Bothwell Car show. I believe that it has a Corvair engine.

The fiberglass boat builder, Glastron, made a few on a Dodge chassis in the 70s. There was one shown on this forum a few years back. I was very, very tempted to go after it.

For some reason I had gotten the idea that the Ultravan was all FG. But I just read that they are aluminum ribbed and covered, with molded FG in the compound curve areas (corners). Pretty unusual!

What about the Trans van? Maybe, maybe not. What about the Discoverer? They were big and looked like a jumbo jet from the front.
