We picked up our new to us 1992 Scamp 13 last night. Mostly a standard, a couple of options are the screen door, 3 way fridge, silverware drawer, and city water. It is in great condition and the couple who sold it to us were great.

It is in awesome shape, some rivet caps need to be replaced and the insulation/fabric on the ceiling in front of the vent need to be reglued somehow. We are so excited to get out and try everything out. The only option we really, really want to add is an awning, I will call the Scamp factory to see if they can do and how much it will cost.

Alright! It came with dishes in the sink...just like home!

It looks like it is in pretty good shape. Congrats!

For some reason beer tastes better out of the cooler. I think it has something to do with the sound of the shifting ice Speaking of the fridge, the previous owner said that he has lit the propane to make sure the fridge would run. But he said that the original owners avoided running it on propane because it used a lot of gas. I doubt we will be camping very often without electric, but would like to know if the fridge uses a lot of gas?

As we start poking around more and packing stuff into it, we are so impressed with how good of shape it is in. The original owners put down plastic carpet runners, the carpet looks brand new. The cushions look and feel brand new, no signs of sun rot. It is amazing how well everything holds up and it is evident that both previous owners took really good care of it.

The exterior requires a bit of maintenance, thankfully there is a wealth of information on these forums to help with that! After seeing how well these little trailers hold up, we would not have regretted buying a new one if we hadn't been able to find this used one.

Sherry is already talking about some late September or October weekends, to see how warm we can stay I think some fall color camping would be great, as long as we can keep up with the raking at home

I have a 13' Scamp and we go camping about 25 days a year. I have never used up a 20 lb tank of propane.

Lars H,
My husband and I also have a 13' Scamp and LOVE it. We do have an awning, but honestly, we've used it only once in the 15 months we've had it (camping 10 times). We usually try to find a very shady campsite instead of using the awning. But, we do like having one just in case. We also decided to leave the dinette as a full-time bed and bought a memory foam mattress for it. No kids for us, so the bunk-beds are for storage only.
We plan on keeping our beloved Scamp for many, many years. If we do upgrade, it will be to the 19' 5th wheel. But for now, the 13 footer is just perfect.

How thick is your memory foam?
We are thinking about getting some.

Lars H,
Our memory foam is about 5" thick. We bought it off of the Walmart.com website sometime last year. I believe it was a "mattress topper". I just searched the site and couldn't find it. For the first year, we tried an inflatable camping mattress, but that just didn't work. So, we tried out the memory foam mattress and it works great. We did have to cut it down a bit, round the corners, etc to make it fit. I would definitely recommend the memory foam mattress. If I do find it on the website, I'll include the link.

Enjoy your Scamp!!
