I've mentioned this before, but the number of molded fiberglass trailers we've seen this summer in our corner of the world is remarkable, it seems barely a day goes by we don't see one, and often more than one. Where are they coming from? Are there just more being owned in the northwest and traveling to the Peninsula? What gives?

We took a two day trip to Grayland State Park (WA) this week - a quiet (and cold!) ocean respite for Mike before going back to work following a (flying) trip to CA & the death of his mother. In the park one of the hosts had a Casita (now I can't remember, Casita or Scamp), then as we were leaving the park there was a Scamp 5th wheeler in front of us - and it turned out to be someone we knew! They had just purchased it, been looking for one for a long time, had propane/frig questions to ask Mike (the propane tech), and had never heard of the FGRV forum, which of course we raved about. We also saw a cab-over Northern Lite at Westport.

Last week I talked with a Casita owner from CO staying at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend when I went for a beach walk. She also had never heard of the forum but confessed to looking for eggs on the road when they traveled so I knew she would love the forum (hello if you're reading this!)

Yesterday we saw one on the road (highway 101 heading east), another parked in Port Angeles with little 70s style flower decals on it in a place we've never seen one before. Then last night Mike went to the county park near us in Quilcene to haul water for our garden (dry summer - shallow well) and there was a trailer with no name parked at a house - now this is truly remarkable, Quilcene is a tiny little unincorporated town, what are the odds??? I might go check it out today.

Then there are the 3 13' Burros, a few Scamps, Casitas, a few Big Foots, Bolers, some unnamed eggs, etc. etc. we have seen in the past month, honestly we have lost count, I should have been keeping a log!

So where have all these trailers been hiding out? And how do we get little business cards for the forum to hand to folks we talk with?

If you are any of these trailer folks (or is that yolks! ) we are sighting - welcome to the Olympic Peninsula!

Lots of people make their own Penney. Here's a link to several that have been made by members:

thanks Donna, I thought about making some, would enjoy doing it, make things on the computer all the time (in fact have my own photo card business, Huckleberry Cards) but saw some 'official' ones at Escape so didn't want to do anything inappropriate.

Fun reading other's 'egg stalking' thoughts and activities!

here's a first sample I made:

Hi Chester - the Prairie Egg Gathering was this past weekend and there were approximately 70 trailers, so you were likely seeing the convoy of trailers heading to or from Macklin, SK from all over Alberta. There were lots and lots of trailers from Alberta, Saskatchewan and even BC. You shoulda' come too!

That sounds like you all had a great time. I wish I was there.

Penney,

I think Dianne was the only one who sort of answered you question. But I have an answer...the Oregon Gathering ended July 19th and by the 21st there were only about 8 out of 100 trailers left at Bullards Beach in Bandon, Ore.

I personally know of several people who were headed north and I bet there were more than that.

I thought you knew about the gathering.

I suggest we stick the egg decal on our tire cover or back window, can't remember what the decal says, but it does have the fiberglassrv.com notation on it. I got mine last summer at the Oregon gathering. Margaret in NW California

We just saw our FIRST fiberglass trailer, traveling from Chicago to Plymouth, MA. It is right here in our campground, a Trillium, as we are getting ready to leave. It may have been there longer and we missed it because of a bunch of tents, but it is the only one so far.
