We will miss Lou Edwards

We met Lou and Lora at Lake San Antonio many years ago and they helped us learn to cook with dutch ovens. He loved to fish and go to events so many people on this forum got to know them. He was always coming up with a new addition to their trailer and helped us add a window in our bathroom in the Casita. Lou loved to tease and would always have that lopsided smile so you knew not to take it seriously. Any one was welcome to come and camp at their place where full hookups were provided. And a game of train usually happened each visit.

Last night Lou passed away. We will miss Lou and our prayers go out to Lora in this sad time.

Linda & Dale,

Coarsegold!!!! We're Escapees and will be there next spring. We went to lunch with an old timer and he said to me "Do you Pan?" I said No but do you? He wipped out this little bag and poured a handfull of nuggets into his hand.

He told me that he panned them in the creek that runs along side the road.

We love the Coarsegold area....

I'm so sad that Lou passed last night. I have been talking to him and Lora every few days and, just last night was thinking I should call again. Poor guy was suffering a lot and is finally at peace. I just hadn't heard until I saw this post just now.

Lora will need all our support now. Give em hell, Lou!

Lou's Passing

We are saddened by Lou's passing but we will always remember the fun times we had together.

We met Lou and Lora in 2002, just a couple of months after we purchased our Casita. We camped together many times and places in California. We had many other wonderful times on long distance trips - Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Texas, etc. Those fun times will always be remembered by us.

Lora, if there is anything you need, or in any way we can help, please let us know. We will see you soon.

We love you gal

There will be a celebration of life for Lou at their home in Rio Linda Oct. 1, 2011 at 1pm. If you are interested in attending please let me or the Sanders know. There are several camping spots if you are interested. There will be bbq and dutch oven cooking to honor Lou. I remember when he made our first lid holders. If you have questions you can get hold of one of us.
