If you can believe it, we have a FROST WARNING here tonight. It made it up to a grand temperature of 10C/50F today. Looks like I'll be covering my tomatoes that haven't even had a chance to ripen yet this year

I wonder if okra is frost tolerant?

If it makes you feel any better, Lainey, everybody I have talked to, all across the US, is having trouble with their tomatoes this year. My garden is full of them but they just refuse to ripen.

Prolly Al Gore's fault.

Thank goodness it is still summer here. It was up to 96 degrees today, sun out and weather is beautiful!
I feel for you people with colder weather setting in, YIKES! It is WAY TO EARLY for fall and chilly temps.
Hope it warms up again soon for you all.

102-104 here at Lake James last couple of days. Index is about 110. Lows are in the low 80s.
Charlotte broke a record at 104 yesterday. Index in Charleston was around 116.
Oh well, I'll wait 'til late tomorrow to cut the grass, and in the meantime move slow
and drink plenty of sweet iced tea!
Your report makes me dread those days ahead when it might get below 40 or so!

>>I wonder if okra is frost tolerant?

Sorry, Lainey. Okra is most definitely not frost tolerant... It's one of those things that grows here in the south when it gets so hot everything else (except the jalapeño peppers) gives up.

Robert's right about tomatoes being a problem "all over." In central Texas we've had so much rain this summer (wettest summer on record), and so little sunshine, tomatoes rotted on the vines...

Having said that, though, our rain seems to have ended and temps have climbed back to the upper 90s (F).

So, hitch up your trailer and come on down this way!! (Hope your AC works...)

Relax Lainey, it was cold last night but I spent the day at Miquelon Lake today and although the water was a bit cool, it was great. Lots of camping weather left.

Hey Scott
I'm getting whimpier as I get older, I was much happier with our July temperatures when they were hovering around 26C/80F

I have to agree, personally I love hot weather. I'm looking forward to a vacation in Grand Cayman this October immensely. Hot sun, sand and sea...whats not to love?

We haven't camped yet this year. Bummer winters coming already!
But on the bright side if the economy doesn't go to crap we will retire next spring.
Then look out!!!!!
