Smile weather

oo, oo, oo, oo, oo!!! Is spring ever going to get here? Wow, am I tired of all this rain. My feet are getting itchy to get on the road. Want to head for Wellington, Nevada to chase some family ghosts. 'tis fun seeing and photographing where family went 150 or so years ago. Especially the young man that was killed for stealing a horse. Oh boy. Remember your Mother always said, "don't go digging too deeply, you may find something you don't want to know." Makes for a nice story book when I get back home. Have been making story books of all my trips for a long time. Included are: scans of receipts, photos and captions, maps and anything else I find that will make good reading for me during the winter or maybe even for the children when they get curious as to what Grandma did when she was off traveling somewhere. Happy trails. Marg in NW California

Marg, I feel your pain. As of early this morning, we've had three inches of RAIN since Saturday. I don't dare try to walk on the lawn, I'd sink to my knees... once I got through the moss.

Spring is supposed to SPRING on Sunday, March 20. I hope it will bring some

Oh, I hope the rain stops...I'm having a get-away weekend starting tomorrow and we're headed from rainy Vancouver (the BC version) to Portland. (no trailer though, but a sanity break, a get the heck out of Dodge break, and we'll enjoy it even in the rain - which I'm hoping will make the waterfalls up the Columbia show well. And I'm going to hit a Lowe's to get some of the Red Max trailer shining stuff I've been reading about!)

I actually think the front range of Colorado has nicer weather than all of you have been experiencing.............. LOL (sorry!) It's basically the beginning of spring time camping here. 70's yesterday! WOOT WOOT!

Though I know we are not done with the winter weather here, I think I will bask in the glory of the sun while it last............................

Weather!

We have been out camping twice this year already. To Whidbey Island at the end of January and to Bay View in early March. We watched the weather forecast for a few days that promised to be "sunny with cloudy periods", and found that worked quite well. There might have been a bit of rain, but generally there was enough bright cloud or sun to make it possible to take pictures and to enjoy walking outside. Having a snug little trailer and the luxury of hookups makes a big difference, even in the Pacific Northwest of Washington! We have lots of movies I've recorded on DVD that we used for dark evenings. My MacBook Pro works fine as a player. Now with daylight saving time and the arrival of spring what is to stop anyone from getting out there?

The problem for my wife and me is not weather but available time even though we are retired. There seem to be appointments and events and duties that conflict with our trailer life! We have partly solved this problem by scheduling our trailer excursions ahead, making time for travel. Last minute adjustments are made based on weather forecasts.

Brian

Along with the rain, we've lost most of our snow and there are just a few patches along the north side of the house.
After since paper training our Jack Russell, she likes to use patches of snow and now she's frustrated that her jonny-on-the-spot is shrinking.

I'll send you some snow.

It was supposed to only snow down to 5,000 feet yesterday.
Ha ha ha!!! I'm at 2,000 ft and it started snowing at 5pm, sharp.

We have had more snow storms this year than we had for quite a few years. That Ol' Mother Nature is turning the cycle again. This year is somewhat like it was in the 60's/70's.

Yes, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, I can remember back that far.

I have lots of snow to share! Just spent the morning digging out the firepit from about 3 feet of snow...going to have a weiner roast later this afternoon. It's about -3 C or 48 F but the sun has heat to it and the temperature feels warmer.

It's going to be awhile before the Boler can go camping!

Yeah, we have a good 12" of the stuff so it's a good thing the trailer went back Iowa instead of the snowblower.

We left for a camping trip to Florida in the middle of February, and when we got back home, spring was here.

Here's a picture I took in my front yard today. Hope it cheers you up and reminds you that spring really is headed your way!
