My wife and I are planning a trip out to Portland Oregon to visit family and friends. We were hoping to hit good weather and were wondering what June is like in Portland or is there a better time for to avoid the rain ?

It's not a proper Rose Festival if the downtown waterfront does not turn into a mud pit

June is the tail end of the rainy season, but it also brings all the beauty of a PNW spring. Nothing beats it!

It can be dry, but plan on a few drizzly days. It doesn't get to be dry season in Oregon until August 23. It lasts until Aug. 24.

Plan your trip for that day.

Gina, Aug 23rd it is. Do you think there would be time to stay for dinner?

Oh my stars, I'd laugh Gina if you weren't so close to be correct. BUT, the weather is changing the world over. Our "best" weather seems to be mid-July to the end of September. We've hit 100 degrees the middle of August every year for the past 10-15 years.

David, I think you should plan on coming right after July 4th and also come to the Oregon Gathering

OK! The best kept secret about Oregon. Summer actually begins July 5th, unless the 5th is part of a long 4th of July week-end. Then it begins at day after the end of the week-end. I usually lasts till around the first of October.
