I use
http://www.rvparky.com/
I have the app on my phone. It lists more than just the free places and gives pricing info and phone numbers.

Military Camping sites
Don't forget to search for military campgrounds, if you're qualified. Need to be active, retired, civil service, I.D. may be required; some are restricted to active duty or stationed at that location. One thing about these sites, they're clean, well-cared for.

Thank You Scott,
I am not qualified, but only to have specified may be useful to other members with qualifications.

I get a kick out of the name, Boondockers Welcome. Though a great service, it seems none of the offerings are actually in the boondocks, and many seem to offer hookups.

My favorite phone apps for finding campgrounds are AllSTays Camp & RV for general use and the Ultimate Public Campground List for non commercial campgrounds. Both are available for Mac OS or Android, as well as usable at the website.
If you are interested in looking at some of the many others, check my collection of RV Campground Finders & Reviews list (Scroll down past the Forum links). Since I've been traveling, I haven't checked the list - there may be dead links...

iOverlander app.
Mostly for the globe-trotting truck/van set in South America but there are a few spots that pop up in NA that could be suitable for boondocking in a small trailer.
