This afternoon at about 2:30 I awoke to a horrible noise coming from my window A/C. (now now, I'm not lazy, I work at night!!) Anyway, when I turned the A/C off and still heard the noise I ventured downstairs to check the commotion... what I found, torrential downpour does not even describe! The water coming from my roof looked like I standing on the back side of a waterfall- thunder boomed, trees in the yard were whipping around and the noise that I heard from my A/C was it being pelted with hail. The storm lasted all of 45 minutes and then it was clear skies again.

I did manage to snap a few cool pics- and am semi anxious to get home from work in the AM and check for leaks on the eggs...they did survive the winter snow and ice, but this is definately the hardest rain I have seen since leaving Texas 10 years ago, so if ever they were going to leak, today would have done it!

Wow! That's a lot of hail!

We could really use some of that rain here in the Southeast. This drought is getting truly nasty!

Bob, I can certainly understand where you're coming from. We had a several-year drought that was very unrelenting. On-going brush fires that really did a lot of damage. Well, our answer for rain finally came this year and came and came and came and ... I'm not one to complain, but a day without rain might be nice for a change.

Jaye, living in a hail prone area myself, I can tell you that not having to worry about ones trailer during those downfalls is a really nice feeling!
