Western US Fire Smoke Conditions and Air Quality Info

My buddy John Soares keeps an awesome writing blog, and he also writes guidebooks for hikers.

He's just done a new blogpost consolidating information from practically everywhere. His focus is for backpackers and hikers, but all information easily applies to RV'ers.

His blog post here lists two dozen sources for information about smoke conditions and air quality in various hiking/camping locations.

Google has put up a map which includes most of the Western states showing the current smoke conditions and ratings - it is updated frequently as air quality warnings are issued.

PNW Smoke Map - Google.

A Smoke Forecast for Western Canada that covers the next few days can be found at:
Smoke Forecast - FireSmoke.ca

Poor Air Quality Advisories issued in BC - updated frequently.

Nice PNW map Carol, Thanks for the link.

For those that don't know the area, locate Wenatchee in about the middle of Washington, Then go north, that wiggly blue line is Lake Chelan, Chelan is at the bottom(South) end and most of the bigger fires are currently just north of there.
