Finally a curtain for the kitchen area

I've been on a long hunt for curtains.
Haven't had much luck finding anything that "talks to me" (pier1 import commercial)

So last time I was in Walmart (I think) I picked up what they had.
I was searching for some new cabinet knobs but what I wanted was
way too expensive for me. Then I remembered I had some (will do for now)
knobs left over from a job I did years ago.

These are the surplus still new in the package.

And while I was at it I finally installed a curtain rod for the curtains I've been
playing with. Not wanting to poke any holes through the shell, I figured out I
could drill holes in the end of the curtain rod, those old style my mama used.
I could then screw one end to the inside wall and the other end I could screw
onto the blind holder the factory attached. I wanted to do both ends of the
blind but I couldn't get my drill in the other side, but I could get my screwdriver
in if I attached it to the wall. Up until now I just had it hanging on the blinds.

Believe it or not..............

BELIEVE IT OR NOT I finally found my "a revolution is brewing"
material in Missouri. I bought all that was left on the roll (bolt).
Think there was 4 1/2 yards on it and it was marked down.
$2.50 @ yard. Guess that's about as good a deal as you can get?

And wife informed me she was not making curtains, so she picked
out a couple at Dollar General when I stopped to get some more rods.
And I got them (the rods) for $1.00 each but the computer rang it up
as $4.00 ea. So I'm on a bit of a roll on getting my bargains.
The curtains she picked out were $10.00 @ 3 pc. set.

Wife thinks the material I already have is a bit busy. lol.
I told her I remembered you ladies saying something about a solid color
with the trim. So, for now I guess I'm going with the flowery trim. lol.

I went out to change my curtains out since wife gets her way.......lol
Thought I would take a pic to show how I mounted the rod at both
ends. I drilled two holes at both ends and here the screws go on the
inside into the shower/bathroom wall.

Here you can see I drilled into the end of the blind holder and put
the screws from the outside into the blind holder.

Here I have my couch curtain changed out.
In the house there would be a bit of window showing.
But in this application I guess it will do.

Post #64 is [before] pic with previous curtain.

Here I got the rod and bottom curtain up using the same
method. Only both ends are done from the inside here.
I got too hot and it got too dark to finish putting a rod up
for the valance. Maybe it looks better without one?
I'm no good with curtains like this.........LOL

While at the Rally this week I got the bright idea to pull
my original curtain out from under the counters and hang
it over the bed area. I was getting chilly with the a/c blowing
on me and thought this would deflect it a bit.

But the window curtain is a bit short and too narrow unless I
happen to find a matching pair to add to it. Since I have to sew
the new material I've been accumulating, I may make a special
one for this area.

Anyway, you'll never know what it looks like unless you hang it.

With the non-square design and the door in the rear (well, those
are excuses) I just don't have any imagination..........LOL

First pic (finding items one or two at a time).
I'm not a flea-market/yard sale kind of person, but may become one.

If I were solo-ing I could use my very old coffee mug from the Navy years.
USS America CVA-66 (aircraft carrier) in Tonkin Gulf (Viet Nam). 1970

Or maybe set for two except wife hates coffee (could pour her some coke)

The very first inkling of doing anything was looking for a solution to cover the back door window. Daughter likes butterflies so she got to pick this out for blocking all the windows. This one I velcro-ed in the four corners so it didn't fall off when I used the screen door. First trip or two I was throwing my shirt over the door and closing it at night. Didn't care much for that.

And yes, this is a car shade. We picked up several at Walmart in some town near the campground we were at.

Great Idea!

I just found this thread and enjoyed reading it - we are seriously considering a Snoozy and I am ready to contact the factory to make an appointment to visit. But in the meantime I have a question - on this thread and others everyone seems to talk about finding items at Walmart. Does anyone shop at Target or elsewhere? Or does Walmart have a lock on the camper market?

I hit the Targets, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Walmart, flea markets,
antique shops, and on and on. Haven't hit any garage sales as yet.

When decorating you find what you find when you find it where you find it.......LOL.

Some have a lot of talent and just make their own.
Hopefully, I will be able to get a crafter's area going again and make a lot
of my own things. I have many plaster molds in storage. I like to paint and
also wood working.

I've also gotten some of my things from Amazon.com

More Coffee Curtains

Today was the day we set aside to get a new windshield
for our 2002 Astro AWD van. We left at 8 am for a 10 am
appointment. When we got there, they had the wrong windshield.
Instead of the astro w/s, they had an S-10 w/s. So it was either
go home and reschedule or return at 2 pm that afternoon.

So, we had several hours to kill until then. We hit the K-mart
and I found some more coffee curtains on clearance. We walked
through a couple Walmarts, a restaurant supply and a Big Lots store.

When we finally got home, I went out and changed out one of the
windows. Flower curtains? or more coffee curtains? Now that I've
changed them and had some time to stew on it, think I may go back
to the flowery curtains........LOL

No wonder you ladies keep moving furniture around.................LOL

Snoozy

Carl, one of the reasons I liked the Snoozy so much was because of the big windows. So for me, curtains are out! The mini blinds that came with the Snoozy provide privacy at night and let the great outdoors in come morning. I have considered a little something to cover JUST the tops of the miniblinds, but so far, it is just a thought. I like the curtains that were provided in the bed area because they are neutral and blend with any seasonal colors I want to use with the linens, pot holders, etc. Those things I do play with as the seasons change. Variety is the spice of life, but don't make it so hard! Go camping!

Thanks Susie........
You're right, just go camping. lol.

That's another reason I think I'm going back to the flowery curtains.
Last camping trip I had them open wide. They did fine making believe
they weren't there. Then I closed them up at night.

At the beginning I didn't want any window coverings, but it keeps growing
on me. I think I've found the combination for me. Takes care of the man
side and the woman side of me. lol.

Carl, hope I didn't offend. My thoughts came out wrong and it bothered me all night. The beauty of these little campers is that you could completely redo them, and they are so small compared to even a small home, that you could do it often just for the fun of it if you so desired. Have fun with whatever you decide.
