I remember it being absolutely 'amazing' in appearance and put out some good heat too! Did not know you could get a crackle as well!
Don,

The crackle is an app for my phone. I had to turn it off; the cat was scared, since it was her first time in the camper.

The fireplace was neat. Not sure where to put it though, maybe hang it over the bed next to the TV. You can't see it if you put it where the furnace goes.

It does draw a bit of power. Of course we use a lot of things. When the microwave was used to make supper with this heater and the AC heater on, it blew the fuse.

Just about anything that uses electricty to heat up, such as a toaster, flat iron, etc tend to use more amps during start up/heat up. But mircowaves tend to use a lot quick, probably best to turn off most stuff before you even start the micro.

Do you know what the Amp draw is for your new toasty fire place?

I'm betting it's 15 amp- that's what 99% of electric space heaters are, and the upper legal limit.

Prolly has a 7 1/2 amp setting, though...

Actually just went and checked it out through the link Cindy provided. It's 12 amps! Not bad! But as Cindy found out, it plus the heat strip, micro, and anything else that might have kicked on at the same moment, still probably better off just turning things off till micro prep is done...........

Mr. Greg and Mrs. Jane,
I 'll be over at a place just north of Venice (below Sarasota) for 3-4 days after the New Year starts. Be great if you guys can come on down. We could have us a mini-UHaul Rally! (slim pickings on the State and National Park sites now due to lots of snow birds but after the Holidays it starts opening up again.) Have a safe and Happy New Year to all!

We gave ourselves four days at Disney with our daughter and her family. Gave them five days. We are back at Jekyll, heading into Florida in late January. And we are a pair of those darn snowbirds. The campground people at Jekyll are very polite, they call us " winter guests ".

Yes, we have run into electrical issues before, as we are glampers. Just forgot as we turned all the stuff on.

Thinking we might be able to hand the fireplace below the cupboard over the bed next to the TV that hangs there. That way, we can see it. No other place in the VT that I can figure out if we want to see it, unless we put it on the table. Since we now seem to have a happy camping cat, that would not be good. She could knock it over.

CindyL,
Liked your present so much had to get one for our Lil Snoozy. My girlfriend really loves it, now she wants to know how we can use it in our sailboat (Sorry Hon not going to happen). Of course I can't leave anything as is, wanted to make it look more like a wood burning stove so I painted it with a rough finish dark gray paint. Now to find a practical place for it the TT.
Thanks for sharing.

Where's my finder's fee?

I am glad she likes it. I do too, and it is much, much neater than I thought it was from looking at the box. Does a nice job heating too.
