They only made 40 (or 12 depending on which source is used) as production started when the price of gas started to climb and the company lost money on each one they made.
I feel quilty as I plan on putting it on blocks and using it for a lunch break room until I retire, then I'll probably sell it. It really should be on the road but family politics makes it a little difficult to sell. Maybe after a few years I'll sell it to get it back on the road.
It runs but won't pass the California smog test so the only way to transfer title
in California is to put in on a junk title
under my name. Which is fine, I can un-junk it later and the DMV will leave me alone for the next 12 or 13 years until I retire.
I wish it was fiberglass, but I can't argue with the price and it is pretty cool.
