I think that the one listed is either a Compact-I or a Compact Jr. Be sure of what you are looking at. The II will usually have more cabinets, a slightly smaller bed and more interior features and appliances and often, a bathroom.

But adding brakes (really not needed anyway) is usualy an after market item as it requires a new axle. If you want it to fit in a garage be sure to measure it first.

That said, $3000 seems like a good price or a decent stock unit without a lot of extra features or updating like a refrigerator, hot water, a pressure water system, or a furnace.

I think the trailer is a Trails West camper. I does have a short pop top like a Compact II but the wheel well skirts , 2" frame and raised hitch are like a Trails West Camper. Besides not having the extra cabinets, a Compact II had a diamond design on the vinyl liner which this trailer does not have. $3K is a very fair price if everything works. I also like the square tube frame much better than the Compact channel frame.

Yep, after looking at several pics of Campsters I agree.
This is about the 3rd or 4th ad I have seen in recent weeks where the seller didn't know the correct make of the RV they were selling..

I agree with the brand assessment, but think it entirely possible that the Title may say it's a Compact-whatever. There are an awful lot of "repurposed" titles out there...

The price is great for what you seem to be getting, but I'd certainly double check that the Title matches whatever VIN is on the trailer!

This of course presuming that the seller actually has the Title, of course.

It's location wasn't mentioned but, althought some states, don't always title older trailers, all of the western states title trailers all the way back to year "1".
Hunter trailers usually have a VIN on a plate welded onto the left chassis rail, about 18" back from the tongue.

It is a Trails West Campster. I bought one in ok shape the wood inside was shot. I did a lot of work to it and sold it for $3800.00.

Definitely a Campster. But prices are generally comparable. It looks like it has the fridge not icebox? Maybe an add-on as mine had two drawers below the fridge before I put the microwave there.

thanks guys appreciate all of the info and I totally agree with your assessment. Does this type of trailer normally come with a front window shield? Is that necessary for safe travel?

Not necessarily for that type of trailer. A "Rock Guard" is an option; some have them, some don't. I've never experienced front window damage in the trailer I've used that didn't have one.
