Ann asked me a question for which I hadn't an informed answer.

Why isn't it called "Bullard's Beach Oregon Gathering , Coastal Oregon Gathering, Southern Oregon Gathering, or even Western Oregon Gathering? Somehow I understood NOG to mean Northern Oregon Gathering. BBOG, COG , SOG,or WOG? Since the location is most definitely not in Northern Oregon. Do we have it all wrong?

Inquisitive minds wish to be enlightened! Please elucidate.

Thank you in advance for your expert explanation,
Kurt & Ann K.

Our last few have been
"ULTRALIGHT DELIGHT"
"TOUCH OF GLASS"
"EGGSTRAVAGANZA"
"FIBERGLASS FEVER"
When you put all your eggs in one basket you really have a GLASS ACT.

The Oregon Gathering in Bandon, was the original and the first. To differentiate between that event and to give folks an idea of where the NOG was going to be held... the Northern was added to this separate event. So now the Spring/Fall event is called the:
NOG - Northern Oregon Gathering, or
NOG - Not Organized Gathering (my favorite!)
or even Egg NOG.

Someone suggested it be named "Donna's Traveling Road Show," because we move the gathering around to different campgrounds. But, I'm not interested in becoming INfamous

An event held in the southern part of the state could be SOG (Southern Oregon Gathering)... although that sounds like a rain event

That's exactly what my son said to me when I explained what the EGG NOG was to him! He was convinced that therefore we had attended the EGG SOG (luckily less the rain)! Great minds think alike

Donna D.,
Thank you for your definitive answer, Ann's query has now been sufficiently satisfied. She also endorses "Not Organized Gathering, although, in reality, it is the most thoroughly planned and executed rally we have had the immense pleasure of attending.
With the variety of attractive workshops which are offered, it has become difficult to decide which to attend. One single day is no longer sufficient time to partake of the extensive selection. The expertise of the instructors and their topics would indicate a need to expand the time frame somehow.
Is there a possibility for an organized (there's that word again) expansion?
Regardless of the semantics, and the high cost of fuel, the NOG is enjoyed by all who attend.

Thanks to all who are involved in the planning and execution of this wonderful event,
Kurt & Ann K.

I'm confused, are you talking about the Oregon Gathering at Bullard's State Park in Bandon? That is DEFINITELY well organized. Or are you talking about the Northern Oregon Gathering (NOG), which I do my best to keep unorganized? These are two completely separate events.

Donna D.,
The fog has cleared! We did not realize the references were about 2 totally different events.
Thank you for clearing up our mis-conceptions. The rally held at Bandon, or Bullard's Beach, could therefor actually be referred to as BOG, BBOG, SOG, or even WOG without "stepping on the toes" of the NOG group. Admitting of course, that the concept originated with them.
So everyone realizes, this is all being said with "tongue planted firmly in cheek"!
