We still haven't decided if we want to have a new baby or to adopt one What's the difference between 2000 and 2001? Or 2001 and 2002 aso .....
I have noticed that the A/C in a 2003 is still located by the front door therefore it was moved to the roof the following year?
I appreciate all the info we have read on the Forum.

Anne3358,
I believe the AC location was/is optional. Our 2000 17' FD has the AC on the roof.
I'd suggest checking with Casita to receive the best info direct "from the horse's mouth".
Enjoy the selection process!

My 2003 Casita has the AC on the roof.
Kurt's right, call Casita directly and ask them if you have model year specific questions. But honestly, there's not much different between the the past seven years that I can tell.

Were you looking at a [b]16'? I thought the A/C in the 16' Casitas were either in the back window (Older), or the bottom of the closet in front because the roof wasn't strong enough... When the 17' Casita came out, they designed the roof to be able to handle the weight of a roof-mounted A/C unit...

We have not succeeded in answering all of your problems. The answers we have found only serve to raise a whole set of new questions.
In some ways we feel we're as confused as ever, but we believe we're confused on a higher level and about more important things.

LOL . . . . that's exactly how we feel.
Thanks for your help

Hi Anne,
Over on the Casita Travel Trailer Forum the webmaster Gene has put together a list of changes that have occurred in Casitas in recent years. It may be just what you're looking for! You do need to register (which is free) to be able to access the information. After registering, go to Technical Section / Casita Manuals, Checklists & Technical Documents / Casita Factory Changes, Upgrades Over The Years.

Hello,
I have a 2002 17 ft "Spirit de Luxe".
The A.C. unit was supposed to be on the roof (I think that was the default location), when I ordered it, I asked the people at the Casita factory if I could have it inside instead, like the 16 ft model.
People at Casita told me it was not a problem at all, it seems, they get often this type of request.
BTW, the inside unit I have is simply an A.C. window unit.
