What strange, interesting, or unusual camping item or activity have you seen?
In the town campground in Lewistown, Montana we saw a guy using a coffee pot to fill the fresh water tank on his VW camper. Don't know how long it took him but it wasn't fast.

I wonder if the caffeine stained the inside of the tank.

We camp with tearjerkers a couple times a year, well because we also have a teardrop. Haven't seen any that unusual though, like the picture that John posted. I suppose I could be considered somewhat unusual myself. Bob

Having rv'ed most my life as well as owning our own Rv park I have seen a lot of unusual stuff. Most of my story's shouldn't be repeated. But the strangest camping item, was a guest who traveled with a time line of his vacation!
Seriously, this guy had his vacation planned to the minute! 15 minutes at this gas station, 30 minutes at this tourist attraction, etc . I about fainted when I saw his binder of his whole rv-ing adventure across the country from FL to MT. He pulled in and said he had a reservation with us (he didn't!) but he was just hell bent on proving to me he did. So he pulled out his camping schedule. You truly could have pushed me over with a feather when I took a look at it. Again, he didn't have a reservation with us, but after finding the campground he was suppose to be at and sending him in that direction, he returned shortly as said he didn't like it. So he came back and stayed with us. I told him to lose the vacation time line and start enjoying his trip! LOL I know he thought I was abrupt for telling him to lose the binder, but I didn't want someone who was staying with us to be sooooooooooooo uptight! Camping/rving is suppose to be fun!

I have had my share of odd sightings for sure but I think my favorite may be the Terre Haute Indiana KOA that has "Room Service"?
You order at the desk or by phone and in a few minutes a Golf Cart arrives with your food.
I stayed there on the way back home from picking up my first Casita (Now Shelly and Daves) and had nothing in the trailer to eat and was tired and hungry.
Who would have guessed?
So I dined on Fried Shrimp and Mushrooms and it was like a regular party!

Some time back Oprah, and friend Gail, did a segment lamenting the lack of African-American families camping/RVing in National Parks. As a part of the segment they, and their production crew, (including a helicopter) showed up at a Yosemite Valley campground with a pop-up trailer and, after first tearing off part of the plumbing on a log, set up camp to spend a night. To get into the spirit (?) of camping she made and served the nearby campers Mohito's (sp?) in nice glasses. A memorable camping experience for all.

Not unusual but tragically happens often. Minutes after taking this cactus rose picture the lady following our group picked it. Now no one else could enjoy it.

Hope the cactus pricked her fingers. Why cant people take pictures to enjoy a flower instead of picking and have a few hrs of seeing it before it dies. Mother nature would not be happy.

Hey Frederick, how do you like your folding picnic table and which brand is it?
Thanks,
Melissa

It was a recent gift, and I LOVE it for group meals at rallys. It's very light weight and seating/table space for 4 can be easily carried by the handle in one hand. I had trouble with our heavy-by-comparison individual chairs and I don't do lap feeding well at all. I have always preferred to sit at a table to eat.
I don't know the brand and will have to look later; I don't have access to where it's stored right now. I think it's at least 20 years old, and possibly 30... it's in good condition because it sat in storage that long before I got it.
