This was the view out our back window a couple of days ago...
This is a trio of peacocks that moved into our neighborhood several months ago. They hang out in a few acres of trees adjacent to our place. To describe their raucous call as sounding like three elephants learning to play the trumpet is unfair to elephants.

Normally "evidence" of their passage through the yard is more, um, indirect, however, this morning we caught them in the act.

Spring has sprung! Here's the view out my window this morning. This male turkey is showing off for the girls... dancing around... making lots of noise ...and they are totally ignoring him.

This female marsh hawk comes around every three or four weeks. Then there are no small birds for a while.

This isn't out my back door, but it was out the back window of my Scamp. Does that count?

Note the operating word "was". From out week-end trip to Memaloose State Park an the Columbia River. You can see Memaloose Island, an old indian burial ground. There's only one person left buried there.

I just got a message and this photo from Jamie H. This is what it's like outside HIS door in Yellowknife, NW Territories (above the Arctic Circle). He says he's REALLY looking forward to coming to the Oregon Gathering in July. (This will be his third year at this event.)

Winston Salem in February from the Whole Foods parking lot.
Tower on the right is Cesar Pelli's building for Wachovia bank. At night the lighting makes the dome on top look like the Death Star from "Star Wars".
I see lots of hawks in this part of the city, and a couple of weeks ago, a kestrel flew right along with me for several hundred yards as I came through downtown on a long flyover.

Don't know if this will show up very good. This photo was taken at 9:00 AM this morning. The darkest daytime I have ever seen. Got about 2 inches of rain out of this storm in less than an hour.
