I have yet to try making pizza while camping though. I wonder, if there a way to make it in the campfire dutch ovens or something?? Any input there?
We use an OUTBACK OVEN.
It does a fantastic job of baking on a portable stove. We use a yeast risen dough. These photos were taken on a canoeing trip, but we have used it trailer camping too. There is a flame diffuser that goes on the stove, the pizza (or cake, bread, etc) goes in a round pan, a lid (with a thermometer as the handle) goes on top, then the whole thing covered with a shroud that keeps the heat in. We used a tube of pesto for the sauce, rehydrated sundried tomatoes and mushrooms, used a great farmer sausage and topped with mozzarella cheese.
