When you dump waste tanks on the ground

The spot is in the center of the photo. Relax it is my hay field. I returned from a trip on Sept 4th and dumped about 35 gallons of both black and grey which also contained a bottle of aqua-chem. This photo was taken on Oct 31st.

I'd be more worried about black helicopters.

Just put on the lips and it prevents licking thus avoiding chapped lips.

Well,
So much for adverse environmental impact . If the gov finds out they'll make you bring the rest of the hay field up to the same standard

My dog does the same thing to my yard.

I call them crap circles. Maybe I should change his name to "ufo".

We live in the country and have a holding tank and drain field. When they pump our tank out they take it to some field south of town and dump it.

We figure this is our contribution to crop (or is that crap) rotation.

We just need to be mindful that seeing something that's green doesn't necessarily mean "healthy" for consumption. I wish to remind people of the spinach recall out of California where sewage was mixed with irrigation water and used on fields. The spinach contained e-coli INSIDE the leafs and no amount of washing could remove the e-coli. A similar but different contamination is happening when people use rain water run offs from roofs to water plants. It's okay for scrubs or lawns, but shouldn't be used for food plants.

Donna, thank you for the reminder. We are all stewards of nature.

Donna, I am just wondering what you source for "e-coli INSIDE the leafs" was. I had thought this was impossible.
thank you.

Don, Google has lots of links about this, some from wacko bloggers and some from the FDA and colleges/universities. Here's one based on a press release from Purdue University: Salmonella and E. coli Can Live Inside Plant Tissue : Food Poisoning Law Blog : Food Poisoning Lawyer & Attorney

Be careful. All the fraidy cats will use this as an excuse to destroy all plants for the sake of human safety.

Johnson, go to code "GREEN" and arrest that mother for trying to poison her child with Spinach!

I don't advocate dumping on the ground but we've all leaked some here and there. I mean, we didn't close our valves properly or get the fitting just right before pulling the dump handle... never mind.

I'm certainly not afraid John, just mindful. I fortunately live in an area where we get more rain from the sky than we know what to do with. I understand lots of people are at the other end of the spectrum. The information was only provided to give people choices on how they handle waste water. The decision is up to the individual whether it's for food or non-food items. And this is certainly not a political statement by me.

I was just joking, not intended to be at you. I previously worked with a group of people who would contort that to mean all green things bad. I need to make sure my jokes are a little more obvious, everything always makes sense to my head, and I'm happy it still does even if it's nonsense.
