What did I do and where did it go???
I get the first reply to be a full size post.
The rest of the replies are set up like threads.
How do I get this back to normal?

Jan,
Click on the [b]OPTIONS button at the top right of the first post and check [b]Standard under display options.

I have no clue, Jan. The same happened to me last week and I swear I had not changed it.
One of our great moderators told me how to fix it; I had never seen the [b]OPTIONS button before that.
I assumed that I had stumbled and set it to [b]outline, but now that it happened to you I think it might be a glitch in the board software.

I have also made this mistake within the last 24 hours.
There seems to be a fine, fine line between the "ADD REPLY" and the "OPTIONS" buttons. My fat fingers often strike 2 keys at the same time on the keyboard. Has my mouse cursor also become obese?

I've heard of an obese curser, but never an obese cursor.

Found the problem.
It comes from following the link someone has posted with the default changed to “Switch to Outline”.
After following a link with the preferences changed, yours will then be changed to. I just ran across the link the changed my settings. I double checked and sure enough, it changed mine every time.
The bad link was found HERE.

You could also just edit the post's link to remove the "&mode=threaded" part, to leave a harmless link, since the threaded option is not relevant to the topic.
"Bad" (actually perfectly valid, but with an option most people don't want) version:
Code:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/index.php?
showtopic=24995&pid=232918&mode=threaded&show=&st=&#entry232918
"Harmess" (removed unwanted option) version:
Code:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/index.php?
showtopic=24995&pid=232918&show=&st=&#entry232918
Good spotting on the source of the problem.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Mike,
It seems to me adding a link should not change the browser mode. In other words, it should not add "&mode=threaded."
Of course changing it may be SMOP (simply a matter of programming). If so it would not be worth the expense.
It's strange that the designers would put that in the software; why would they allow one user to change another user's browser settings?

Brian, of course we considered just editing the link to straighten it out, but we thought there would be some benefit to pointing out the cause, since several folks had reported it.
I'd think the best solution (until IBP fixes this in their next release?) would be to disable the "threaded option" entirely... Of course, I don't know how much time it would take to do that, either and/or how many people would be mad at us if we did.
