What amazes me is we are now importing food from CHINA and other Asian countries. Look at the frozen fish and shrimp for sale in WalMart etc., a lot of it is imported from Asia. Besides frozen shrimp having no flavor, I wouldn't trust the quality. Remember all the recalled toys and jewelry containing lead and cadmium - you want to buy FOOD from those same countries?

Mt Dad used to have a Sinclair Station back in the mid 50's and hearing that name brought back some memories.

Hi: All...We now have to pay more attention to food labels for health reasons. You find out all kinds of stuff!!! Like pickles from India? Their growing climate's good 365 days/yr. but their picking labour's way cheaper than ours.

A visit to the Sinclair website shows they still have quite a few stations in the Western US including Colorado. And they also own other stuff like Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. And they own Little America on I-80 in Wyoming.

My family was in the oil industry for years, going back to about 1914. Our tank farms, which we sold to Ashland/Marathon, were in the pipelines. MOst of the differences in light oil products like gasoline are hyperbole.

In 2003, I opened a music store and folk music school. Many of the instruments and accessories are not made in North America anymore. For guitars, you have Godin and Larivee in Canada. Martin, Taylor, and Gibson are in the USA. But, these companies only cover about 1% of the guitar market; the rest are built in Asia (mostly). The same statistics are there for straps, strings, cases, stands, mics, Amp systems, etc.
