Where to find Dometic parts?
I'm wondering if there is a bone-yard of parts somewhere out there.
I have a Dometic model RM2201, which works perfectly, but parts are no longer available.
I'm ISO the inside freezer door (I have one but the hinges are broken).
Would also love to find an additional shelf for inside the fridge door.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

One place worth checking is PPL Motorhomes. They have a parts search section that I linked to. If the parts you need are not listed, there is an 800 number to call.
If you don't have any luck there, here is a list of RV Salvage businesses.
Good luck!

Jon, thanks! I had already hit PPL and Dometic, but there are no longer parts available. It was the salvage option I was looking for!

Hate to tell you this but I had the same issue and a member here sent me the door off of one they were parting out..... but it also broke after a year of use.
Some nice white duct tape worked well as a door hing for the next three years! ;-)

Keep an eye on the Marketplace section of this site. You may find someone parting out an old fridge.

Hi Carol, LOL! I'm using blue painter's tape right now. Doesn't look or work that great. I'm thinking about just leaving the door OFF, since that area is so tiny it's hardly useful anyway. Maybe just consider it an additional shelf.
I don't think that would affect the refrigerator's performance, would it?

Not surprised the painters tape is not working well As mentioned a better grade duct tape worked for me.
Personally would try and keep a door on the freezer section. As you know these old fridges do not work all that great in warm weather to start with. Leaving the door off may result in to much moisture entering the freezer compartment and ice forming. The more ice that forms in the freezer section the poorer the fridge performs.

: and just drop them off so the wrecking yards are taking them in and sometimes one can find parts in those old trailers, Motorhomes etc.

Make your own door out of plexi. You can get the type that is heat-bendable and just fab up your own replacement door.

Try Any RV Parts in Chino, California. The springs on my freezer door were broke when I purchased my Casita. I did not replace I use one of the bars that hold food and drinks from moving to hold the freezer shut.

I was just going to post a question about this, wondering if the lack of a door would cause the fridge to work too hard overall. I did *prop* the door back in, but you are right. Without the door it does ice up. Amazingly though, even without the door, a container of water still froze solid. This little nearly 30/yo fridge is still doing a pretty good job.
Yah, the painter's tape is not the best -- I just wanted something temporary that wouldn't leave a lot of goop while I looked for a replacement.
The frustrating thing is that when I first did a search, a few months ago, those parts were still listed. Coulda shoulda jumped and ordered them then.
