Thanks Norm & Ginny.

I get a little weepy eyed thinking of all the fun we had!

The first two are his first trailer a used 1968 Monitor. Photos from 1973 - Mom & Dad with their rig and then Me at the Dumping Station! McCormick's Creek State Park near Spencer, Indiana. The Monitor was very "egg" like for a stick built.

The last two are TED with one his new Terry in 1978, Whitewater State Park near Liberty, Indiana, one of his favorite places to camp. (Mine too!)

A bit off topic, but I love the fact that a station wagon is pulling a duel wheel stick built trailer. That's when they built cars!!!

I call my Boler, "Ouzel", another name for the American Dipper a little bird that plays in fast moving water. Ouzel dances down the highway (in a good way) and makes me smile every time I glance in the rear-view mirror.

We are a (some other brand) RV couple. We have a 13 ft Cardinal lowliner. While looking thru the original paper work, I found the name of the couple that were her first owners. Wifes name was "Lurene" so that is what we named her.. She is pulled by a Jeep Grand Cherokee but honoring my Native American roots the Jeep is named "Sioux". Apologies to the great Cherokee nation.

Flattery

Since I got my 82 Scamp 13 footer two years ago,I've been trying to come up with a name.Thought about plagiarising John Steinbeck's Rocinante.,but I don't have enough class for that title. But last week,a friend who has a very good way with words (He wrote about his thru-hike of the A.T.)suggested FLATTERY.Here's hoping it goes a long way. Thanks,George!

This Thread Started in 2007,

...and I just stumbled across it

I named our BigFoot 17 "Sisquatch" because I just know she is a "she" and part of the family. My wife did not respect my labor of coining an inventive name. The day we bought our trailer (which was the first time we ever saw one in the flesh) SWMBO named her "BabyFoot". "She's cute! Not big, brown and hairy with big claws!"

Guess which name stuck?

I have two 5th wheels a 32ft and 19ft,

in a side by side comparison, our Scamp looks

"STUMPY"

so the name Stumpy fit just right!

Click and Clack of Cartalk (sadly, recently retired) always said that if you name your cars, you'll take better care of them. Finding the perfect name is one of the first things we do whenever we acquire a new vehicle. Our tow Tundra is named after the beautiful and talented Emmylou Harris (she's silver and we're big music fans).

Our 1989 16' Scamp was named Serenity after a spaceship in a show we're fond of. She's Firefly class and this quote reflects our sentiment exactly:

"But it ain't all buttons and charts, little albatross. You know what the first rule of flying is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home." - Captain Malcolm Reynolds

Picked ours up in April.
Still no name as yet. Waiting for one that fits us.

Right now, the leading name is "LEPER".
Second place is "Humpty Dumpty."

Since she already has her name written on her and we didn't not want to confuse her we just call her Scamp. And she knows it's Tundra that pulls her. Yeah, uncreative and boring. There was a pregnant nurse at the doctor office where I go for my leg who was pregnant with her first child and so afraid she would be bringing the child home unnamed. We assured her that one would come to her after the birth. Just see what the child looks like, then name them. My husband was hell bent on naming our youngest Caleb because he liked the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Ezra did not look like a Caleb and for sure not Anastasia.

The name of the Native American nation is Lakota or Dakota. "Sioux" is an exonym for 'enemy'.

My kids can quote quite a few of Jayne’s lines. He gets the best lines. I think Jaynestown may be one of my favorite episodes, but they’re all so good.

I was kinda disappointed that no one commented on the fire fly referance in this post:
