Why is it...?

Why is it that the forums for camper mods and restoration, and owners helping owners, are about 2/3rds full of ads for "campers for sale", or "campers wanted"...?
Shouldn't those threads be posted in the classifieds?

Tom I just to a look at those sections and I am not seeing the classifieds you are seeing. Where you formally signed into the site when you were seeing those? Lots of ads etc if signed in.

I'm on a standard laptop (not a tablet) using IE10 explorer. I only see one banner ad that appears below the 'welcome Pam Garlow' line, and a couple small square ones on the right side panel. These ads will show links to items that are similar to recent searches or website visits. They're not not overly obtrusive and easily ignored.

Just went onto my Ipad and I saw the ads but when I logged in no ads..... wonder why some still see them when logged in.

Have you tried logging out and clearing your computer cache and then logging back in?

I keep getting a young lady in revealing clothing atop a pool table. Ad if for a fitness center. Not sure why that applies to trailers. I just ignore them.

Often the types of adds you see are targeted towards your browsing history.

Most all the ads I see are things I've looked at.
Indian motorcycles, metal detectors, trailer accessories, etc.

Hummmm Roy what types of searches did you do to get her? Perhaps I could adjust my search habits to get a nice young man with revealing clothing...

On a more serious note for those who are seeing the ads and have cleared their computer cache and tried logging out and logging back in. Make sure you havent click on a bad site that downloaded spy wear to your computer. Trend Micro has Some Free Anti-malware. If thats not the problem make sure you are using an ad blocker.

Battery chargers and the cobb grill.
Stretching it, I did look up a lecturer at Stanford from a TED presentation. Dr. Kelly McGonigal, whos website says "where science and compassion meet". Surely Google recognizes the difference between compassion and passion.

He's talking about the recent decussions.
People looking, wanting, selling etc. all appear there.
Right?

I get no ads at all. I mostly use Chrome with Ad Blocker. I just turned Ad Blocker off for this site, and got a banner at the top, and two small ads on the side. Not too obtrusive at all. Plus, they help support the site by bringing in revenue.

Roy's scantily clad woman reminded me of the time when our kids were little, our son was about 6 (daughter near 8), and at Christmas for gift ideas they did a search for "Boy Toys".
Boy, did they get an education. Mom and dad had some explaining to do too.

Right?
The Op indicated the were seeing under the "mods and restoration, and owners helping owners" sections 3/4 full of ads for campers for sale or wanted. I took a look at those sections and didnt see that so I am assuming and I suspect others are that they must be seeing commercial advertising for some reason.
