Coming back to the original question by Thomas, I just think that our northern neighbors don't have as much of a need for the 'bigger must be better' mentality that we seem to have here in the states. I do have the experience from many of my friends, that they think my rig is adorable, but (unspoken) that they'd never want one because it's 'too small' for their needs. They prefer the 30ft behemouths....

Hey- no fair trying to get back on topic when the O.P. already declared that the premise was perhaps..."in error" to begin with!

Thomas has already conceded the point that there are in fact more surviving active fiberglass trailer makers in the U.S.A. by a ratio of about 3 to 1...so...does that mean that Canadians are in fact the ones that prefer the behemoths...or what????

Is it because of that whole metric thing they've got going on up there, as some appear to maintain? Does it make them more hostile to Fiberglass trailers than their avoirdupoisial neighbors to the South?

You do have ten times our population so three to one is not bad.

That's only because you folks are so choosy about who you let in to join the party...Do you know how many times I've been pushed back under the fence?

I was figuring this was on a 'per capita' type of arithmetic. So I think that the Canadians have more. But please don't make me do the math in Metric, please (whimper). I do know that 3ft=1meter (approx) and a centimeter is smaller than an inch but thats about it. Do I get tossed out of this discussion now?

Gordon Lightfoot's performance was almost as good at the Calgary Stampeders.
And nobody has explained to me why they aren't playing on a metric field.

I only conceded that because it wasn't my original question.

When we take the old Ventura out to the RC float flys, we are smaller than some of the slides on most of the RVs there. So yes at least in Alberta, bigger still rules. I have heard that a lot of the US manufactures were dumping a lot of their stock up here for the last few years because it was one of the few locations that were selling. With me, I guess its my Irish/Scottish heritage(cheap bugger) that keeps me driving what I have got. I just cannot justify buying a new trailer, tow vehicle, storage for the 5 weekends I use it. The Subaru outback is fine for me as it hauls my RC planes , garbage, firewood and just about anything I feel like throwing at it and still isn't too bad for gas mileage (oh damn, whats metric for mileage, kilometerage)

I have lived on both sides of that dotted line that separate the 2 countries and most of the folks on both sides are fine people!

as for the original question, I guess that the guy who invented the Boler must have been Scottish or Ukrainian too because he took a septic tank and turned it into what we all love ! Then the guy who built my Ventura came in and setup shop trying make a better tank opps trailer but he used a square tank!

BTW, just to be clear. We ARE NOT talking about the Grey Cup here, okay.

Well, at least until I get over my disappointment in my Stampeders.

No pro hockey to watch, and I am not into the NFL, I guess I will now have more time to get things done.

Smile Some statistics

Number of Canadians on this blog - 2078*
Number of Americans on this blog - 6524*
Number of Canadians - 34**
Number of Americans - 314**
Number of Californians - 38**
* = ones that admit to it
** = millions

So there are more Californians than Canadians.
There are about 10x more Americans than Canadians.

Methinks there are more Canadians than Americans on this blog because of the long, cold winters up there.
*****
Some comments on some of the postings:
#15 - "Look around you. How many chrome bumpers do you see on cars these days? None." - Look at the ad for the Dodge Ram at the head of this blog. Aren't those chrome bumpers?
#17 - "As a US citizen, I would like to buy American made, but don't particularly care for the current offerings...." - I resemble that remark!
