Hope you all got that I was referring to Steinbecks book "Travels With Charley" where he wrote about traveling around the country in a truck camper with his dog Charley.

So Frederick, since you say "was", I assume you have seen it? One statement in the book that I recall is he says he took a couple guns and fishing poles so as to look normal, like on a sporting trip. Today we would be taken as terrorists, LOL.

The exhibits in the John Steinbeck Museum in downtown Salinas, CA are set up like a maze, with settings and artifacts about his books in chronological order. Rocinante is the very last exhibit.
