There have been wonderful posting of the wildflowers in the SW this spring, just thought I would add that it has been an amazing wildflower year in the Pacific NW too! Yes, we grow more than just everygreens, moss and ferns! These photos are from the 'west side', east of the Cascades has even more!

Below are camas and prairie parsley on a preserve in Port Townsend. Both flowers grow more in drier parts of the state, but Port Townsend, being in the 'rain shadow' of the Olympics once had a prarie of it's own.

this is wild bleeding heart, and our woods is covered with it! It loves shade and moisture.

We've been seeing lots of eggs around, so I know there's folks traveling here, so check out the flowers while visiting!

They are beautiful, Penney! I've never seen blue camas except in pictures. Hope I get out West to see them in person some day. We do have rhododendrons, and they are stunning!
