If the insurance takes the totaled vehicle rather than the owner keeping it, the insurance company would get the salvage title. We kept ours. Insurance companies are fairly quick to total out units if older. If a unit wasn't insured for collision which many older units aren't, the owner repairs it and the repairs might never be known about by future owners.

I consider everything these days to be "luck of the draw". : (
