This is one of those dog catches the car deals. I mentioned to a friend in England that I'd like to know if he ever came across a Willerby Vogue for sale.
And so he has. Now what?
It appears to be in fairly decent shape but would need restoration. But it wouldn't come cheap. I'm posting this to get input - perhaps an intervention - on what it would be worth if over here and all redone. Has one sold here in anybody's memory?
There have been some sales of another European trailer the Eriba - and have gone for between $4 to $6000. Sorry could not find any Willerby sales to compare. Key to what you will get is more often than not Locatoin Location Location. ;-))

Location of course. Problem with the Willerby is that including transportation costs I'll be in it $6,000 before I lay eyes on it.
I'm not pursuing it to make a profit but nor do I want to be upside down before I even start.
Well a quick google would indicate they are a sight not often seen in NA - so its anyones guess what it might be worth here - funny as the Eriba seems to pop up from time to time wonder why not a Willerby...
Not only a rare site in NA but anywhere. I read that it had a very limited number of units produced. I may have read it here or online. Quick search couldn't find it. None the less a very cool and very rare trailer. Priceless....
Fell deeply in love with Willerbys the first time I opened the link to them here on FGRV. Been drooling ever since. I seriously would give just about anything to have one. So cool looking. Guess everyone needs something to dream about!
Just with Willerbys, most likely we can't achieve those dreams..........
There's a great blog by someone in the UK who lovingly restored a Vogue, but I can't find it. Classic caravans (= travel trailers) to restore are in demand in Britain, so don't expect a $1-2,000 price even before shipping.
For those who like restoration, these photos I saved might be of interest as the Willerby is a monocoque/unibody with a moulded underside and a minimal chassis/frame - but it has a level inside floor of plywood or chipboard, so that rots when wet just like any other egg!
If I could find a trashed 16' for really cheap (like under $500) I'd be tempted to do a copy. Finding similar windows, off the shelf, could be difficult and cutting and changing the roof line would be a challenge but definitely not impossible.

....wondering if Peter rang up his British connection to buy the Willerby? Would be so very very cool!
