If we have company that will fill the guest room, we will let the right couple (like our kids) use the trailer as their private guest cottage but only at our home. It is too important to have everything where it should be when we take off for work. I might loan out a tent but not our trailer so that makes another lady who would never let anyone drive off with our trailer. But we like ours so much we are thinking of getting a littler older one and fixing it so our kids could use it.

Ditto for me -- I did consider offering to drive it to a local campground for our son and his family to use for a weekend, but we would pick it up and drive it home again. I just wanted his wife and twin 3 year olds to try camping -- we offered it as part of their Christmas present but so far have not been taken up on it. No way would I let anyone drive off with it. A good way to cause hard feelings with family or friends.

The thing that made it easier to loan this time was that I drove it over to his place and will be picking it up... I agree that letting someone else hook her up and drive off would be a very difficult thing to do.

NO, NO, NO!!!
I speak from experience. I purchased my first popup when I was younger. My father, who had cancer, loved that camper. It was one of the last things he said to me before he was hospitalized & died. Lent it out to an aquaintance, who STOLE IT ON ME!

Absolutely not! Our trailers are beloved to us, but not to the "borrowers".

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who is unnaturally attached to my 'egg'.
If I had too many houseguests for my house, I think I'd take the Escape and let the company have my house (I'm less attached to the house).

It's called an 'Escape' for a reason . . . . . it is my Escape and I won't risk anything happening to it. Not because of the money - but because I need to know that I can get away - anytime.

Probably a therapy issue . . . . .

My aunt and uncle had a nice camper. I must have said something that made them think I wanted to borrow it. She simply said " Work hard and save your money, then you can have one too".

I did. I've since owned seven RVs over the years. Only have been asked a few times but they got exactly the same answer I did years earlier!

This last weekend we had house guests who bring their dogs with them when they visit. We have cats.

In the past, we had a logistical challenge accommodating everyone concerned in the house.

This year, it was decided that they would stay in the Fiber Stream in the back yard. Then [b]I was consulted.
Well, I survived the weekend, and the trailer did too.
...But I think next time, I may follow Anne's thinking.

What, again? Did that for relatives once when we had a new crank-up. They forgot to do something when setting up or lowering and broke one of the pulleys...... "Oh, by the way, they didn't make that very well. Did they?"
NO!
NOT EVER!
Wha part didn't you understand?
Besides, It's set up for two...US, and we like it just the way it is, thanks.
