Wow has it been a while!!

Howdy FG folks!

It sure has been a while since I checked in. We are in Oregon now, trailer was great on the road, absolutely no problems what so ever traveling from TX to OR. We left Houston in May '10, took a long journey, stopping in for the 3 week Kerrville music festival, then passed into NM, up to CO, for some hot springs, then we went to UT for the Arches, Brice and Zion park visits. From there, we cut through NV into southern OR east of Rio... and camped for another couple of weeks on the way up to the Portland area. The Willamette area is really nice, hot springs and free camping spots all around. We hit up a couple of music festivals, and it was great having our little home on wheels. In August we landed in Hood River, found a rental home and parked the trailer. For a little excitement and to shake things up a bit more, our wood stove caught something in our basement on fire, which blazed the entire basement. Now we have re-settled into another rent home sharing it with a room mate. Now the trailer is temporary storage while we continue to salvage the rest of our stuff that survived the fire from smoke damage. Quite the adventure so far, but she is hanging tough and hopefully by spring I will have her cleaned out so we can register and use her again for camping this summer.

So there you have it...

I have a friend from Houston mention she is looking for a small travel trailer, so I sent her links to the forum and gave her tips on how to find what she is looking for. Might have another FG recruit soon!

April,
It's great to hear from you again. I've wondered where you were. I'm really sorry to hear about the fire. Hope spring, and the new trailer registration, brings some good camping and fun your way!

Glad you made it to Oregon. Sounds like some exciting things going on, glad to hear you are safe after a house fire. Scary stuff! Well spring will come quicker up there in Oregon, so you better get busy and get the trailer ready for camping. Lots of beautiful places to camp there. Enjoy!

Yes definitely a big change from the life we left in TX!! I'll be stopping in more often now that I have some extra time on my hands. Anyone know how much trouble I might have registering our trailer in OR with no title, only TX registration tags that have expired since Sept?

Titles are needed to register in Oregon. Do you have a bill of sale? Do not delay starting the process. As some have found out it can take weeks to get something straightened out. You really don't want to NOT be able to use the trailer because it can't go down the road legally this spring/summer. I'd personally go into DMV and talk to someone, rather than rely on info from the web or this forum. I'd be at DMV on this coming Monday too.

Good luck April
