1973 Hunter Compact II $4,200

1973 Hunter Compact II

It was a San Diego camper for most of its life and brought to the East coast about 4 years ago and garage kept until we bought it this summer. The interior has the original quilted vinyl and is in good condition. The electrical all works off 120v and 12v. There are matching 12v and 120v sconces in the bed/dinette area. The stove works. There is a city water hookup and the recently tested water pumps runs as does the toilet. LOTS of storage.

It tows great behind my jetta. The bearings were serviced two summers ago and I have taken it about 600 miles this summer. There two spare tires and two updated spoke wheels. There is also a new storage cover. All the hookup equipment and collection tanks needed if a hookup is not available are included.

The fiberglass is in good shape w/ no damage or chalking but it could use a scrub and a fresh coat of wax. There are no funky smells. The windows and screens are fully functional. The water system has been winterized using the pink RV product.

The curtains are serviceable and the pop top is fully functional and bug tight. There are two screen repairs. I was told that the fridge works but have not had the time to toy with it, so assume it doesn't. No battery.

I have the registration for this camper in hand and ready to go (no title in NJ for trailers under 3000#).

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

How long is your camper, and how many pounds? What type of car do you pull it with? Do you have air conditioning?

Thanks, Ann and Joe

Anne, Joe,

The Hunter Compact II is 13' long total. The 'cabin' is approx. 10'L x 6'-5"W x 6'10"H exterior dimensions. That height is the measurement when the top is lowered which allows the camper to be stored in a garage with a standard 7' door.

Tow Vehicle:
I tow the trailer with my 2006 VW Jetta TDI, 5-speed stick shift. We cruised at 65mph on any of the inclines the interstate highways in PA,VT and NY where we towed it. I have seen many people say the list weight of the Compact II is 1,200lbs however, the real world numbers put it around 1600 lbs when it has camping gear food in it.

Air Conditioning:
There is no A/C in the trailer. A small window unit A/C would probably fit well in the vented space where the refrigerator sits, which would prevent the need for modification to the shell.

Price Drop

Price drop:

$4200 - I'd rather see this trailer used than miss the fall camping season.
